Rohnert Park is located in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a census-designated place (CDP) in Contra Costa County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 94,846. The ZIP code for Rohnert Park is 95608. The first Europeans to visit Rohnert Park were Jedediah Smith and his party on their way from Monterey to Stockton in 1809. They camped at the north end of present-day Racetrack Road near what is now Foothill Boulevard. In 1818, George Webber founded a small town called Webberville around the site of what is now Rohnert Park. The town prospered until it was destroyed by fire in 1872. In 1876, James Irvine arrived with his family from Scotland and set up shop as an inn at 4248 Harrison Ave., just south of today's Greyhound station on Wilson Way. One year later, he opened another inn, this one on Lake Merritt Parkway across from where today's University Avenue meets Interstate 80 east of Stanford University (now Palo Alto). TheIrvine Inn became famous for its delicious Scottish oatmeal cookies that were made daily and still are sold there today (and can be found online). In 1886, Irvine hired John Jablonski as his personal chef and started serving dinner at Irvines restaurant every night after work. This led to Jablonski becoming known as "the King of Key West." In 1912 Wernher von Braun developed his rocket launcher at movie theater in nearby Sacramento while viewing a live performance by vaudeville act Fred Astaire and His Orchestra at the Palace Theatre on Telegraph Road; Astaire's show ran late so von Braun decided to try launching rockets out into space instead. This led to him formulating plans for NASA's first space mission – Apollo 11 – which launched successfully on July 20th 1969 from Launch Complex 37B atop Kennedy Space Center; humans had walked on the Moon by this time! Today there are multiple museums within walking distance of each other throughout Rohnert Park including: Eastman House Museum (1501 Eisman Rd),preserving buildings associated with Hollywood Pictures Corporation (2300 block MacArthur Blvd), California Science Center Museum (6000 block Addison Ave.), Oakland Mills Mall (OneOakland Mills Dr), Humboldt State University–University Plaza District Research Farm/McDonalds Campus/Arcade brick building adjacent thereto/Napa Valley Film Archive Building/University Plaza green parkade adjoining thereto between McClaren Way and Alma Street/Californian Village Storefronts used prior to 1961 when store closed down along Ulysses S Grant Boulevard next door between Alma Street & Napa Avenue
