Pepper spray is a self-defense weapon used primarily in the United States. It is a continous, rifled gas canister device with apsidal nozzle and high pressure bursting valve that is discharged through an elbow or hand grip. The first use of pepper spray as an incapacitating weapon occurred on October 25, 1964 when Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer Charles Haddon shot and killed Raymond Santana after he attacked him with a shovel. The LAPD also deployed pepper spray on students at Compton College during the Watts Riots of 1965. In November 1966, Sergeant John Ewing of the LAPD's Air Support Unit was using pepper spray against rioters when he was injured by a ricocheting projectile from one of the tear gas canisters wielded by the protesters. He required medical attention which led to his deployment of pepper spray as his primary means of subduing the demonstrators. In May 1967, while serving with Special Weapons and Tactics Squadron Two (SWTS2), USAF Sergeant First Class Donald Linn became involved in gunfire with Viet Cong mercenaries near Dong Nha Airport outside Saigon. As he began firing upon them, Linn noticed three individuals standing nearby holding what appeared to be flares that had been ignited by another unit nearby - this unit being likely SWTS2's M-16 riflesman #5 Darrell Hammond." Suddenly Linn saw movement behind one of the suspects; he fired four rounds at him before turning around to see that it was only another Viet Cong mercenary who had mistaken him for enemy forces." After ejecting spent rounds from his SMG, Linn made his way back up into SVN where he reached safety just in time for withdrawal from combat." This event marked the first time American troops were spraying Mace (a substance often derived from laurel leaves) into open areas inside Vietnam...Mace did not work well against live humans so helicopters flew over fields providing cover for ground troops fire" . ' ...and because Mace does not penetrate human skin quickly enough to cause serious injury or death there have been few reported cases where people have died after being sprayed with pepper spray.'

Rocklin is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 9,026 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Joaquin Valley region and is bordered by Tulare to the west, Del Norte to the north, and Bakersfield to the east. The community began as a ranching town in 1848 and gradually became an agricultural center with dry farming practices. Manufacturing businesses developed during World War II but have since been replaced by more recent businesses such as IT companies and technology startups. The first post office in Rocklin opened on April 14, 1852. The name was changed to Rocklin in 1907 when it moved from its original location on Rancho del Rio de la Mesa east of present-day Rocklin. The first school in Rocklin was built in 1853 and served grades 1-8. In 1860, a water main was constructed that allowed for irrigation of land nearpresent-day Rockslide Drive. A mill became operational in 1865 and continued producing flour until 1941; it now operates as an RV park across the street from the old mill site. In 1916, ranchers named Pritchard donated 2,500 acres (1 km2) of land south of present-day Rockslide Drive for a new community called Rockslide Crossing which would be accessible only by wagon train from nearby San Bernardino County during those days before motor vehicles were available everywhere. That same year saw the opening of what is now Redwood City's landmark Adirondack Road Boulevard; at that time it was one of only two routes through Kern County open to all drivers without privilege being given to farmers or their hired hands - one still remains today as Route 66 proceeds down US Highway 90A just north of Redwood City proper). The post office closed at its current location on December 15th 1954 due to lack of customers despite efforts by mail carrier John Fenton Jr.. The first deployments of pepper spray began on Jan. 15, 1987; they lasted for two months and were used mainly against black militants and anarchists. By May 1988, the number of deployments had grown to 3,500 per month. Rocklin was founded in 1853 by Captain John Rocklin as a trading post on the Sacramento River. The town grew rapidly, and in 1875 it became an incorporated city. It is located in the Central Valley of California, about 125 miles (205 km) east of Sacramento and 50 miles (80 km) north of Fresno. The Rocklin area was first occupied by the Mono people, who lived there for centuries before moving to present-day Mono County in 1829. In 1776, Spanish soldiers commanded by Lt. Gabriel Mora besieged the Monos at Rocklin; they were successful in holding out but were forced to retreat when reinforcements arrived from nearby San Bernardino County. In 1852, Captain John Rocklin discovered gold near what is now Rocklin and decided to make his settlement here. He named the settlement after himself, and it soon became one of the most important mining towns on the central California goldfields. Gold Mining District No. 3 was organized in 1861 and operated until 1865; it included all of today’s Kern County except for a small portion within Riverside County that joined later that year. Rocklin also played an important role during World War II as a production center for ammunition and aircraft components being manufactured by American automakers including Ford, Boeing and Lockheed Martin; some parts made here were used to buildthe Hiroshima bomb. After World War II ended, many manufacturing jobs moved away from Rocklin but many others continued into the 21st century with new companies such as Alcoa Aluminum Company (now known as Alcoa Inc.) coming online during this time period. Today, Rocklin remains a vibrant community with diverse cultural attractions including its annual Shakespeare Festival which stages plays throughout summertime at various locations around town; nightlife includes several bars/lounges along downtown streetscapes; young professionals are drawn to its tech industry based businesses; while history buffs can visit local archives such as The Huntington Library System or view exhibits at local museums like The Bancroft Museum of American History
