The company was renamed as Browning and later Colt Firearms Company. In 1934, the United States Post Office issued stamps featuring firearms with the likeness of American Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy on them, including a BB gun known as the Colt XPBHandler). In 1945, Browning merged with Colts Industries to become Colt handgun Corporation (CRC). The Cleveland Arms Company was founded in Rocklin in 1949 by Floyd Larkin and his brother Donald Larkin, who also manufactured shotguns and rifles under their own name.
Rocklin, California is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 5,858 at the 2010 census. It lies on the eastern edge of the San Joaquin Valley and is bordered by Bakersfield to its south and east, Stockton to its north and west, and Modesto to its northwest. The community began as a stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail route in 1849. The first post office in Rocklin was established in 1850. It moved to its current location in 1868. In 1903, Rocklin became part of the new city of Bakersfield; however, it still retains some vestige of local autonomy within Bakersfield's limits. Rocklin is named for David Ralston Rocklin (1821-1900), an early settler who donated land for a school and depot near what is now the Roundhouse complex on Southeast Fourth Street. Ralston built his house on what is now North Main Street about 1852-53 while he resided in nearby Visalia; it has been preserved as part of the Ralston House Museum adjacent toVisalia High School since 1916. He also donated land for a jail located near where US 101 intersects South Third Street today; this structure was demolished around 1960 but remnants remain visible inside one end zone of I-5 outsideBakersfield). In 1857-58 Avila College relocated from Mud Lake eastward along present day East Fourth Street before coming into town via Elmira Road following Neches River flooding that year due to heavy rains caused by February 26th winter storm Whitney (). That same year an unsuccessful attempt was made by prospectors led by John Cimarron (1823-1885) known as "The Spike" or "John Haggerty" to wrest control of Los Angeles from Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna (). Avila College would again move out through mudslides during 1893 flood when portions of town were covered with over 8 feet (2 m) of water after significant rainfall aftermath November 30th winter storm Woolsey (). The college relocated back upriver pastcurrent Neches River crossing into today's Rocklin shortly thereafter becoming Visalia Nazarene University before finally coming into town via Elmira Rd., El Camino Real Avenue (), Redwood Boulevard (), Mission Road (),present day First Ward Drive () - all moving upstream towards present day downtown Bakersfield across Redwood Boulevard just priorto entering historic Downtown Rocklin which formed below current Town Square area immediately above original Town Hall building having been constructed following original incorporation date January 6th 1860 according To Township Charter dated March 2nd 1861 On April 12th 1865 By Order Of The Mayor And Board Of Supervisors A new City Hall Building was being erected directly across Southwest Broadway from old City Hall along present day South Park Drive - major renovation completed September 2009 see attached map depicting various alterations made throughout years including completion date etc.) jameson@cox.net

Rocklin is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 1,281 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salinas–San José–Rancho Grande Metropolitan Statistical Area. Rocklin was founded on October 10, 1851 by Mormon pioneers as Ricksburg. The name Rocklin originated from a nearby ridgeline which the Mormons named "Rocky Ridge." In 1852, three brothers, John W., George W., and Hiram W. Rocklin settled in what is now Rocklin and began to build homes. By 1865, they had organized themselves into a township and renamed it Rocklin Township after their home-town of Ricksburg. They built another home east of present day Main Street on what is now Pemberton Road. On November 7, 1868, when California became an state, their town charter was amended to make it an incorporated village with rock-climbing as its primary industry (it still retains this designation). In 1870 it had a population of 200; by 1880 it had grown to 488人 with a two-story brick schoolhouse and six large stores including Girdersmith’s grocery store (now known as Hooters). A post office was established at Rockslip in 1888; however, mail shipments stopped after that year because of railroad construction across the range into Nevada.. The first church services were held in a cabin near where Ricksburg now stands on October 10th 1851 by Elder James Kappeler and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints whosponsored him through Obed Marshall Brigham Young who also led wagon trains into the area for winter stockings in 1850 –1853 while Joseph Smith officiated at Nauvoo Temple tours being conducted there then back to Independence Jail during winter time.. After building their first log house in 1861 they started erecting larger homes with stone foundations around 1870 using some materials brought over on stagecoach trips loaded with goods coming down the mountain including gold nuggets that turned up at Sutter’s Mill during those years Kaolin Hill about three miles north west also came under Indian ownership about this time until finally given back to US Government hands following Mexican war defeat In 1915 local ranchers Jorgenson & Richter established an agricultural cooperative called Gold Standard Farms with irrigation water provided from underground springs near present day Needles CA The opening of Interstate 5 made access to more jobs available for people living close by but also caused traffic congestion so shopping centers opened up all over town giving residents more choices for entertainment than ever before ROCKLIN COMMUNITY CONVENIENCE CENTERopened its doors just south east off main street in 1975 ROCKLIN CEMETERY opened next door on May 8th 1974 First Baptist Church moved out West onto Buelow Road map shown shows original location actual cemetery site is behind current high school currently used for storage
Rocklin was founded in 1847 by George Rocklin and his brothers. In 1853, the town was named for General Don Carlos Manuel de Alvarado y Costilla, who had fought in Mexico during the Mexican-American War. The first post office was established in Rocklin on July 7, 1853. The town grew gradually and reached its population peak of around 1,500 in 1880. However, the city's growth slowed after World War I and eventually declined until it disappeared entirely between 1940 and 1950.
