Riverside, California has a rich history of target shooting. The city was founded in 1892 by prospectors who discovered silver and gold in the area. Target shooters have been taking to the hills for centuries, and there are still today many Shooting Grounds within the city limits. One of Riverside’s earliest Shooting Grounds was at Rose Bowl Park. This location served as a field artillery range from 1892-1917. From 1917-1968, it was used as a naval airfield during World War II. In 1968, the Naval Air Station Northrop City closed its doors and all military activities were transferred to Riverside Municipal Airport. The airport served Riverside until 1972 when it was renamed “Riverside Municipal Airport” due to its proximity to downtown Riverside. Today, the airport serves as an important transportation hub for the city with several airlines serving it including United Airlines and American Airlines. The first target shooting contests took place at this Shooting Ground in 1892. Contestants would compete against each other using shotguns or rifles to shoot targets out of a man-sized hole drilled in the ground near where they stood! These early contests were very popular with rowdy crowds that enjoyed watching their favorite sport take place! Over time, target shooting became more organized and professionalized; however, some of Riverside’s oldest Shooting Granges still operate today including Rose Bowl Park, South Beach Range (now called Donnybrook), Midway Range (now known as Lakeshore), East Side Range (now known as Willowbrook) and Winchester Armory annexes located on Davidow Rd., off Winchester Dr., just south of Interstate 5 between San Bernardino Ave./Ontario St./Paseo de la Reforma Blvd./Newhall Ave./Mendoza St./ latent streets which make up part of Valley Center/Century City since 1912 contain many defunct old gunsmithing shops & ranges situated onpremises behind present day shopping centers

The Pistol Grip Style Holder has four fingers on each hand while gripping the target with two fingers only making this type more difficult since there’s no space between your finger tips! However this style holds targets securely with its strong grip unlike Cup-Style Holders which could move around if not held properly

There have been a number of different shooting target holders in Riverside, California. Some of the early holders were The Shooting Gallery in 1922 and the Elks Building from 1924 to 1929. Other early shooters in Riverside were Harry Withers and Arthur Satterfield. In 1941, Clarence "Red" Day founded the Riverside Rifle and Pistol Club which was one of the first rifle clubs in California. That year, he also erected the first Target stand in Riverside. The club continued to operate until it disbanded in 1966. In 1969, Julius Weiser built a new Shooting Ground & Range on suspicion that city officials were trying to keep him from developing his land for a housing development that would have gone out across from his property. When it became clear that nothing was going to happen with the development, Weiser sold his interest in the range to Ritchie Gun Works Incorporated who renovated it into what is now known as The Riverside Armory & Range which continues operations today. The original targets at The Armory & Range were made out of large logs but they have since been replaced by Plexiglas targets which are much more durable and provide better feedback when fired than traditional wooden targets.
