Gun pouches have been a part of the American landscape for over two centuries. They were originally designed as transportation devices, to carry pistols and other firearms in cases or packs. The town was founded in 1854 by James Wickersham and his wife Eliza Jane Smith Wickersham. At first, they built a small cabin near where they now live and raised chickens. In later years, they began to trade goods from their farmstead into Ripon proper. Wickershams were pioneers in many ways around here - he was responsible for building the first schoolhouse in Ripon (1857), erecting a sawmill (1860), and founding the first post office (1864). He also became very involved in local politics and helped create some of its most important landmarks – such as Ripon Park (now known as downtown) and the nearby riverbank bluff where he developed his extensive land holdings. The town's growth continued unabated through much of the late 19th century – until things took a dramatic turn on November 3rd of that year when five gunmen opened fire on a group of farmers traveling across country on their wagon train en route from Oregon to Sacramento through eastern California! The event forever changed not only Ripon but America as a whole – it was one of the deadliest mass shootings ever committed against civilians! That event has long been remembered by residents hereabouts as "The Day Of The Gun Pouch." For several decades thereafter, any mention of violence or crime within town boundaries had an unmistakable ring about it… even today you might hear someone say simply "No Gun Allowed" if you try to go about your business without bringing your weapon with you! The tragedy that ensued — which left six dead including four farmers (!)) and dozens wounded — led Wickershams to take up arms once again to try and prevent such happenings from happening again: this time successfully! In 1894 he formed what would eventually become known as "Ripon Rifle Club" – which remains inactive today but still holds an annual meeting attended by local dignitaries! From then until well into World War II there was barely any mention whatsoever of guns outside those pesky violent crimes we all know so well….except maybe for some occasional fund-raisers….. But enough about old times; let's get right down to business: why did these NRA-sponsored Concealed Carry Pistol Protection Act events come back into fashion again? And how have gun pouches evolved over time? Let's take a look….

After World War II ended, many businesses closed or changed hands due to competition from larger towns such as Fresno or Bakersfield which had developed more quickly after the war. However, some businesses that continued to operate during this time include Wirtz Seed Company (1949-1990), Chico Hardware & Equipment Co., Inc.(1951-present), First National Bank (1952-1997), American Airlines(1970s-present), Katella Bakery & Cafe(1986-present), Glessner Tire & Rubber Co., Inc.(1963-1998) and Golden Corral restaurant(1974-1996).

Ripon is a small town in the Inland Empire of California and it has been home to people for over two centuries. The name Ripon comes from a Native American word meaning "place where the salmon swim." The first European settlers in what is now Ripon were French Canadians who arrived in 1776. They named the town after their leader, Pierre-André Rigault, who was a member of the expedition that discovered America. In 1849, John Sutter made his first claim to land in present-day Riverside County when he set up camp on the banks of the river San Gabriel River. He named his new territory after himself, Rancho Rincon de la Paloma (Ripon Ranch). Over time, other pioneers followed Sutter's lead and began settling in what is now Ripon. By 1870, there were over 100 citizens living in Ripon. The original downtown business district was located at Fourth Street and Market Street. It included several stores and public buildings such as the courthouse and jail. These structures still stand today and are used as historical landmarks. The city hall also stood in downtown until it was destroyed by fire in 1954. The growth of Ripon during its early years was due to its location within easy access to markets and transportation points such as roadways, railroadroads, and riverside waterways. Today, many of those same sources of commerce continue to contribute to its economy including agriculture, manufacturing, government service agencies, parks/resorts/theme park operations etc., making it one of Southern California's most vibrant communities!
Ripon, California was founded on May 12, 1847 by the brothers John and Edward Ripon. The town was platted on auvial land that had been alienated from the neighboring community of Fillmore. At its peak in population, Ripon had over 1,000 residents. In 1868, Ripon became part of the newly formed San Joaquin Valley Authority. In 1924, it merged with other valley towns to form the new city of Fresno.
