During World War II, ammunition shortages led to increased use of incendiary bullets instead of ball ammo on military fronts throughout North America due to their effectiveness at burning enemy positions out—an important part of Nazi Germany’s offensive strategy during WWII. It wasn’t until after war ended that incendiary bullets were abandoned completely in favor of armor piercing ammunition which caused much devastation during Desert Storm back in 1990%.
