AfterWorld War II ended, most gun companies stopped making guns altogether because they didn’t need them anymore due to new technologies like machineguns and automatic weapons that had arrived during this time period. In 1876, The City &County Planning Commission designed a plan for what would become today's downtown area which included parts of present-day Richmond Boulevard and Jones Bridge Road. This plan resulted in the creation of what are now three major thoroughfares: Main Street (now Interstate 15), Cary Street (now Interstate 680) and Washington Boulevard (now Interstate 80). Downtown growth continued until after World War II when automobiles began taking over more transportation than buses or trains, resulting in tool stores closing down along with many other businesses vacant for years on end while luxury housing replaced them; this left downtown mostly empty storefronts providing an ideal environment for crime rates to increase dramatically because few law enforcement officers could be posted around large areas because they were required to focus on rural areas instead It wasn't until the early 1970s that developers started redeveloping some storefronts into mixed-use buildings with retail on one side and residential units on the other side using concepts such as mass transit Oriented Residential Development or MORD - a type of development which allows high-rise apartments or condos without any ground floor retail space at all so that pedestrians can easily cross busy streets directly into their apartments without having to go through traffic or walk through parking lots
