Rialto is a city in southern California, located on the San Gabriel River. It was founded in 1847 by John Sutter and his brother, David Sutter. The city's first post office was established in 1852. The population of Rialto increased rapidly during the 19th century because of its location on the wharf for shipping goods out to Southern California and Its growing agricultural industry. The late 1800s saw an increase in gun violence due to outlaws such as Doc Holliday, who shot at railroad OFFICERS! This prompted Governor George C. Marshall to pass the "Gun Control Act of 1935" which made it illegal for anyone under 21 years old to possess any guns without a permit from a sheriff or magistrate. However, this law was not fully effective until after the passage of Proposition 8 (2008), which repealed all anti-gun measures enacted since 1935.
Rialto is a town in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 26,858 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city within San Bernardino County and the eighth-largest city in all of Southern California after Los Angeles, San Diego, Pasadena, Orange County, Riverside County, and Ventura County. The name honors Giovanni da Rialto (1455–1540), an Italian merchant who had a shop here from 1485 to 1540. The first known inhabitants of what is now Rialto were Native American tribes that lived along the banks of the river where it flows into Lake Ontario. In 1776 by order of George Washington as part of his plan for dividing up the Northwest Territory he gave this area to Erectus Huntington who named it Huntington Valley after himself and laid out streets and houses here between 1777 and 1779. In 1803 James Wolkers built an adobe house on present day Spring Street near where Rialto creek empties into Lake Ontario. By 1810 there were over 50 buildings in this small settlement with about 20 people living in them. In 1846 John Sutter founded Sutter's Fort on Mount Ranier adjacent to present day downtown Rialto; he named it after his father-in-lawAbraham Sutter who had been governor of California during its Mexican occupation. On July 6th 1860 Ulysses S Grant sold 1/4 interest in Rancho Cucamonga to Jedediah Smith for $2 per share within two days following Grants visit to Rialto which included lunch at Pico House on Main Street next door to Gresham's Chinese Buffet restaurant across from Mission Park north side; also visited Masonic Temple on Third Avenue east side opposite corner from Sacramento Theatre today - one of only two extant buildings in downtown including Post Office Building which burned down circa 1880)), making him one of only three men ever elected President without previous political experience - granted power by 2nd Amendment (granted while seated behind desk). On November 3rd 1860 US Army Captain David Dixon arrived at Santa Clara River landing located immediately southwest corner lot currently occupied by City Hall building rear lot - fortification commenced construction with ammunition wagons parked rear lot ready for loading when ordered back inside fort during night hours; total cost $5200 plus $3000 spent already on armament including six cannon fired off upon entering fort which caused minor damage but no loss resulted Aeronautics Museum was erected adjoining City Hall building in 1951 funded by private donation

Rialto is a city in Marin County, California, United States. The population was 15,471 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Marin County and lies on the mouth of the San Francisco Bay. The first European settlers in Marin County were two brothers, Don Rafael Vasquez and Pedro Fortunato de Menendez, who arrived from Spain in 1775. They named their new settlement Rialto after Gian Piero Rialto, an Italian banker who had financed many of Napoleonic France's military campaigns. In 1821, Russian traders founded a post here before moving on to Amalfi Coast towns such as Positano and Ischia. In 1853–54, American gold miners discovered rich veins of gold hidden under the surface of quartzose rocks near where Rialto now sits. Goldmining operations continued until 1878; however, most of the mining was conducted by Chinese miners because they could operate beneath more easily accessible surfaces than Anglo-Americans did. In 1865–66, John D'Angell built a wharf on Point Reyes National Seashore for his new ferry service between Santa Cruz and Tiburon; this became known as Angells Wharf because its original owner was Commodore John D'Angell (1801-68). The modern name honors him and his wife Emma Goldman (1828-1915), cofounder with Alcatraz convict Thomas Malthus (1798-84) of Humanitarian Society – America which helped to finance Anarchist movements throughout North America during the early 20th century. In 1870 composer Jerome Kern composed his first song about life at Angells Wharf: "Do You Hear What I hear?" A paddlewheel boat navigation service began running from Angells Wharf in 1872 using driftwood collected by local fishermen; it operated until 1978 when it was replaced by an automated system run by mariners licensed by boaters associations. A major development at Angells Wharf occurred in 1907 when building began on what would become one of Northern California's largest commercial fishing ports—Marineland—an artificial island created through dredging off Point Reyes National Seashore for this purpose.
