Reedley, California is a small town located in the Inland Empire of San Bernardino County, about 25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. It was founded in 1879 by John Reed and his brother-in-law, George A. Henschel. The first post office was opened in 1881. The name “Reedley” comes from the fact that John Reed had an orange grove here. The first firearms were used for target shooting at local ranges dating back to the 1800s. In 1906, Al Capone became one of the first celebrities to own a weapon when he bought a shotgun from Mr. Diggs on Main Street in Reedley. During World War II, gunners stationed at Reedley Arsenal were able to purchase many rifles and pistols from various dealers throughout Southern California because there were no government restrictions on weapons sales outside of the military zone established within California’s borders during that time period. This allowed citizens of those areas to arm themselves with whatever they could find available while their home country was fighting overseas. Many Gun Owners Clubs (GOC) sprang up throughout Southern California in response to this new phenomenon which helped promote responsible gun ownership among its members and contributed significantly to anti-war sentiment during the wartime years.

In 1951, Reedleys merger with neighboring city of Banning led to its incorporation as a separate city under the name of Banning-Reedley City (later Banning-Reedley Unified School District). The combined population reached over 50,000 by 1970 but declined thereafter due to both suburban growth and other social changes within the city limits. In addition, there was another type of pistol called an automatic Pistol which was invented by John Browning in 1911-12. This handgun functioned like a regular handgun, but instead of using cartridges, it fired explosive rounds which caused great damage when they hit their target[1]. The firearm industry changed through the years and so did the technologies associated with firearms overall[2]. For example, Automatic Pistols became more popular during World War II because they offered greater firepower than regular handguns[3]. Additionally, airguns became more popular during this time period because they allowed users to shoot small prey at short range without getting hurt or killed[4]. By 1870 Reedley had a population of 1,500 people and was one of ten towns in Kern County. In 1887 it became a city when parts of Fresno were annexed to it. The growth of California's largest agricultural center during this time led to increased trade and investment in Reedley, which helped support its growing population. The arrival of automobiles made travel easier for residents, and by 1923 Reedley had 24 businesses providing services such as transportation, retailing, banking, health care, and other goods or services. In that year it also became home to what is now known as Drexel University's Campus Recreation Center; its original location on south Main Street near downtown has been moved multiple times since then to keep up with changing needs within the community. In 1990 Reedley annexed part of Visalia into its city limits making it one municipality with two cities - Visalia and Reedley - combined with all but 2% (less than 10 acres) of their total land area still remaining unincorporated outside their respective cities' boundaries while they continue to exist administratively side-by-side without any formal governance arrangement between them whatsoever!
