Reedley, California is a small town located in Inyo County, California. The population was 2,690 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Coalinga–Hanford area and is bordered by Folsom to the north and east, Sucker Valley to the south and west, and Imperial County to the northwest. As early as 1876, Reedley residents were using binoculars for agriculture purposes. A Mr. Halsey built a mill in 1887 on Spring Creek Rancho de San Juan de los Reyes (now known as Reedley) because he needed an efficient way to saw logs in his woodyard. This mill became one of the first businesses in Reedley and continued operations until 1958 when it was replaced by a new plant on Peralta Drive which today houses two restaurants called "The Old Mill" and "New Mill". In 1907, George Washington Waterman donated land for a municipal water system that served all of Inyo County including Reedley. The first public works project funded by Waterman was installation of 5 miles (8 km) of pipeline through difficult terrain over an arduous trail from Springdale Reservoir to junction with White River at present-day North Park Boulevard. A similar project extending 9 miles (14 km) from White River Junction northeastward paralleling Indian Wells Road completed in 1913 brought about increased irrigation demand within easy reach of Reedley residents who had been growing crops on adjacent ranches for centuries before that time. During World War II local families produced food for American troops stationed throughout Japan using their gardens and orchards as well as local fruits and vegetables brought back overland from Japan via Ulysses S Grant's wagon trains during those years; however, much later Japanese forces burned down most of this community during World War II without sparing any farmhouses or homes therein - effectively Destructionist destruction typical of many post-war Japanese villages across Western civilization which followed military occupation/occupation periods following World War II according to historian Donald Sakuma: "Reedleys did not perish but they were heavily destroyed... unlike other communities where people rebuilt." At some point after 1945 there was no resident living in town anymore so all remaining buildings were abandoned until recently when some enterprising individuals decided to turn an old refinery into a home development complete with its own pool & spa plus 4 bedrooms/3 full bathrooms inside what once functioned as just another industrial building back then!!!

Reedley, California is a city in northern California, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. Reedley is located on the edge of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and has a elevation of 4,392 feet (1,524 m). The name "Reedley" originated from Jedediah Reed's purchase of 640 acres (248 ha) in 1846. In 1861, Charles A. Reed purchased an additional 168 acres (66 ha). The land became part of what is now known as Reedley Township. The first post office was established in 1865 and remained open until 1876. In 1887, James Worthy erected the first store building in what is now downtown Reedley. By 1905, there were twenty-four businesses in downtown Reedley and over one hundred residents. In 1907, the City of Reedley was incorporated by an act of the state legislature under the name "City of San Bernardino". On January 1, 1908 it merged with neighboring municipalities to form the current City of Reedleysburg which still exists today as a separate municipality within the city limits. On November 3rd 1920 voters approved incorporation as adry town by referendum - though residents continued to use their old municipal titles such as "city", "town", or "municipality". However this vote did not take into account that most people living east of I-10 lived within 10 miles (16 km) of San Bernardino so this option was dropped from consideration when forming new boundaries for city government in 1932. On July 22nd 1933 Mayor Clyde Henshaw ordered all lights out at night during an air raid drill; this drill simulated attacks by Japanese bombers on American cities during World War II. During World War II many Americans lost their lives including Mayor Henshaw who was awarded a Purple Heart for his roleplaying role during wartime events that included playing Russian military officer in Berkeley

After the war ended, local residents rebuilt their homes and businesses around the new hospital which grew rapidly into one of California's largest employers. In 1924, Reedley became an incorporated city with a population of over 50,000 people. The original downtown business district still retains some of its historical character today with surviving buildings such as the old bank building (now part of City Hall) and the Methodist Episcopal Church being among the most iconic structures in Reedley history.
