Reedley is a small town in Kern County, California. It was founded by George Reed in 1876. The first store in the town was built on what is now the corner of Center and Fourth Streets. In 1886, Reedley had a population of 424 people and two banks. In 1898, the first post office in Reedley opened and remained open until 1959. The first school in Reedley was built on Main Street in 1892. In 1907, the name of the school changed from First to Reedley High School after nearby Reeds Valley High School closed its doors for lack of pupils. In 1928, the then-largest ammunition company in America, Remington Arms Company, moved its operations to Reedley from San Bernardino because of local competition from Winchester Corporation (later known as Winchester). In 1939-1945, during World War II,Reedleys munitions plant produced propaganda leaflets that were used by Nazi Germany as part of their propaganda campaign against Allied forces

The name originated from a Rancho de Anza grant that was part of what is now Kern County. In 1951, the federal government purchased most of the rancho for $1 million and renamed it Riverside County. In 1965, when Riverside Countys merged with Contra Costa County to form San Bernardino County, Reedleys mayor said "I'm not going anywhere." He remains mayor to this day. Reedley's economy depends largely on agriculture which includes cattle grazing and irrigation water usage for crops such as citrus fruits and almonds; although some manufacturing takes place including candy companies like Snickers and Mars Inc., many businesses are family-owned or operated by individuals who have been here since before the establishment of store fronts or malls. The first firearms were invented in China about 1000 BC. These early firearms consisted of a bow and arrow launcher that could be used to shoot arrows at targets up to 100 feet away. At first, these weapons were only used for hunting animals, but over time they became more versatile and effective as artillery projectiles. In fact, by 350 BC an impressive system had been created which could fire small shot up to 100 yards with great accuracy. This weapon was called an “artillery crossbow” because it was able to fires small projectiles at high velocities (firing at a much faster rate than a human can walk). The Chinese had discovered that this type of weapon was very useful for attacking fortifications and other purpose within their empire. Over time different countries exoticized different types of ammunition including lead, powderball, rifle cartridges, shotgun rounds etc., which led to various arms races between these countries during the 19th century known as “The Great War” or "World War I". Ammunition manufacturers scrambled to produce new types of munitions that would provide superiority over their opponents in battle while minimizing casualties on both sides - this often meant developing new munitions with less wastefulness or simply designing existing munitions specifically for war purposes rather than adapting them originally for civilian use (for example using rubber bullets instead of lead).
