In 1866 Captain James Irvine discovered oil reserves off Huntington Station on Long Island Sound and decided to develop them into a oilsands town known as "Orange County". He named it after his home county of Ontario, Canada; however, local residents objected to being called Orange County when their counties did not include any parts of Canada. A community development corporation was organized under British Columbia law and approved by Irvine on December 12, 1966; but no oil production commenced until 1969 when Chevron began production at an abandoned gas well site within walking distance of Donnybrook Park beachfront estate which had been confiscated from Spanish colonists in 1781 for their role inuninhabitable land grants to Missionaries Luis Enriquez de Alvarado (1763-1836) and Ricardo Montañez (1768-1846). The old mission property became known as Rancho Santa Margarita according to one report. In 1888 Hitchcock formed Hollywood Pictures Corporation with his brother John Huckelberry and others including Harry Cohn (founder & head controller Paramount Pictures) to create pictures outside Hollywood using forced labor along the Mexican border titled "Borderland" () although many were actually made within Hollywood proper with small crews (). By 1923 Hitchcock had bought out Huckelberry’s share for $750,000 (). In 1927 he founded 20th Century Fox Film Corporation (); 20th Century Fox would become one of American cinema’s great success stories while also becoming involved in other businesses such as television production through its affiliate Television Productions Company (); both companies are now defunct.) With advances in digital photography technology beginning with Kodachrome film in 1948 cameras could be made without Siamese twins or triplex negative camera mountings making long exposures possible leading thento[sic] wide angle lens use starting with telephoto lenses such as those pioneered by Eastman Kodak founder Alfred Dreyfus
