"Jock" Arrington and his brother Harry in 1922 as a small business dabbling in sight design and manufacturing of handguns. In 1943, Jock's son-in-law, George Crouse bought the company from Jock's widow and made it an independent family business. In 1976, Redlands Gun Sight became a subsidiary of Ithaca Corporation until its sale to Springfield Armory in 1999.
Redlands is a city in Inyo County, California, United States. The population was 21,527 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of the San Bernardino Mountains and about 20 miles (32 km) north of Los Angeles. Redlands is also home to Simi Valley Airport. The name "Redlands" comes from Spanish meaning "a red earth". The first people to live in what is now Redlands were the Ohlone Native Americans who called it la Bolsa de Oro because of its abundance of gold nuggets and other minerals. Henry Sutter built his first mill in 1864 along the banks of the San Gabriel River near present-day Simi Valley. Sutter's Mill was one of many early mills that dot Redlands' landscape today. In 1876, Avila & Co., merchants and developers in downtown LOS ANGELES bought 1,000 acres (400 hectares) northeast of town for $1 million ($ as of 2019). They named their new development Santa Anita Park after horse racing pioneer Don Avila and his wife Catalina Santa Anita (1821-1909). This area now includes much older Chinese and Japanese American settlements that were developed during World War II by Signal Corps personnel stationed nearby at Beale Air Force Base. When America entered World War II, Redlands became an important research center for government scientists interested in helping to win the war against Nazi Germany. One notable scientist associated with this period was Drs. Arno Penzias and Robert Goddard – both men worked at Redfields during this time . After America won World War II, Redlands experienced rapid growth as businesses eager to capitalize on postwar prosperity created jobs throughout various sectors including housing, light manufacturing, healthcare services, transportation engineering etcetera Doheny Chemical Company opened a plant producing nylon tights in 1951; Western Electric Corporation leased land adjacent to Doheny for its new electronic products plant; City College established itself as an educational powerhouse with campuses throughout town; major highways such as I-15 were constructed; local restaurants began opening up around town; nightlife grew more popular among young adults thanks to nightclubs like Desert Inn/Doris Day Lounge being established near downtown hotels}; The late 1960s saw a shift away from blue collar work towards white collar positions within industry due largely to newly founded universities such as Caltech which relocated from Pasadena.; By 1990 there remained few large professional or technological companies remaining withintown limits aside from two small medical technology firms} In 2000 Jedediah Smith Hospital assumed ownership of Mineta Hospital across Old Town Road from Interstate 15.; However despite plans by then Mayor Jerry Brown (), Jedediah Smith Hospital closed its doors effective March 31st 2002 amidst increasing competition from larger hospitals in surrounding communities;; Today only a portion of Old Town Road remains undeveloped while most activity takes place just northwest of I-15 on Steele Creek Rd

In 1795, Nicholas-Jacques Conte created a new type of firearmsight which consisted of two small circles with a hole in the center through which the arrow could be inserted and fired. Redlands is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 36,898 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous city in San Bernardino County and the 14th most populous city in California. Redlands is located on the southeastern edge of San Bernardino County and bordered by Cathedral City to the east, Riverside to the north, and Agua Dulce to the west. The first permanent settlement in what would become Redlands was established by Spanish settlers in 1769 as Rancho Viejo de las Animas. In 1827, rancho grants were granted for land that includes present-day Redlands. The area now known as Redlands was originally part of Rancho Niguel Mexican land grant given to José María Bernal y Asís during 1830–1831. In 1875, John Wesley Powell discovered Kings Canyon National Park while exploring southwestern California for United States Geological Survey curiosity seekers looking for new geological discoveries. At that time it was still unoccupied country extending from Pasadena eastward along today's Orange County border through Kern River Valley to Bakersfield and parts of Los Angeles County before reaching its southern end at Murrieta Mesa near modern day Placentia (now Santa Ana). The eastern boundary of Kings Canyon National Park then followed today's Mather Road corridor between Lake Arrowhead and Indio into adjacent Riverside County where it continued northeast past Fullerton before terminating at Today's Goldendale Avenue about 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles proper within today's Compton neighborhood outside of neighborhoods such as Watts and South Gate/Excelsior/Montebello . The discovery brought about great excitement because there had been no signs whatsoever of water resources anywhere else on earth other than those found within these Rinconada Mountains foothills since prehistoric times! A reservoir was built by General Philip Humboldt just north of present-day Redlands which became known as Humboldt Lake; however this construction did not seem to result in any significant increase in trade or population because goods needed for agriculture were shipped downriver instead only later becoming available at market prices when wagon trains reached Lompoc Lagoon further upstream crossing over into Southern California crossings now called Soquel Bayou etc.– Captain George Vancouver being one such explorer although hisvoyage failed due mechanical problems with his ship Pillar made landfall off Yorba Linda Island on October 12 1776 after having sailed around Cape Horn under false pretenses.)
