Red Bluff, California is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,746 at the 2010 census. It is located on the San Joaquin River about halfway between Bakersfield and Stockton. Red Bluff has a rich history dating back to 1849 when it was founded as a ranch by Capt. George Hearst and his wife Narcissa Ward Hearst. Their land became part of the Rancho Cucamonga Mexican land grant given to them by President Juan José Monterey on October 12, 1849. In 1881, when Captain George's son John Fenton Hearst took over the family's holdings in Red Bluff, he also acquired title to Rancho Tecolote which extended eastward to today's El Sobrante County line. In 1912 Captain John Fenton Hearth sold most of his ranch operations including Red Bluff and Tecolote to Gold King Mines Incorporated for $1 million dollars The town of Red Bluff first came into being in 1906 when the Southern Pacific Railroad built its main line through downtown from Fresno via Plumas County and then connected with other lines near Placerita Junction north of Livermore. At that time there were only two hundred residents living in downtown; since then growth has been dramatic with present-day Red Bluffs having a population of over 1,700 people including 300 students at Marist College . In 1969, a company called Omega began manufacturing expandable scope mounts. This technology allowed for the addition of an additional camera or lens on to a tripod or other platform. The first model was designed for use with EOS film cameras and used three round, metal plates that were screwed onto the top of the tripod or platform. The plates could be rotated to adjust the camera or lens position. Unfortunately, this design featured several limitations: it required a special tool to remove the plate from the mount, it was difficult to adjust the camera or lens position in direct sunlight, and it was not possible to attach more than one Camera/Lens at a time on the same mounting platform. The next model introduced by Omega featured two circular brackets that could be attached directly to either side of a tripod or other support device. These brackets allowed up to four Cameras/Lenses to be mounted at once on different locations on your photographic apparatus. Additionally, there were now several available color filters that could be attached directly onto these brackets (subjectively making them more ‘usable’). Unfortunately, these new mounts also had several limitations: they required purchase of additional adapters (usually made for tripods and other support devices), they were not universal across all photography devices (i.e., they did not work with some digital SLRs), and they could only be used with certain type of lenses (i.e., zoom lenses). Omega's final product was their popular 'Zoom-A-mount' which allowed users to attachment any types of zoom lenses without having to purchase additional adapters - perfect for those using larger digital SLRs!
Red Bluff is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 542 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno-2010 Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1887 by J.P. Reddy and his wife Emma as a Mormon settlement on the banks of the San Joaquin River southwest of present-day Fresno. The name originated from nearby Mount Redoubt, which had been named for General George Armstrong Custer after his battle with Sioux warriors near Fort Bridger in Wyoming Territory in 1876. In 1904, Red Bluff became an incorporated city under state law; it was renamed to its current name on July 1, 1907 when it joined then- adjoining Butte and Shasta counties as one community within Kern County. Redding Gulch is located south of Red Bluff and north of State Route 151A (which connects Menifee with Visalia). In its lower reaches it flows into the San Joaquin River below downtown Fresno before turning northeast and joining again just upstream from downtown Fresno at SH 151A's crossing over the river's wide main channel about two miles downstream from downtown Florence - giving this area some reach into both Sacramento Valley to the east and Tulare Valley to the west (the entire valley lying between those two mountain ranges). The gulch itself has no outlet other than through deep channels formed by erosion or glacial action along its length; but during heavy rains or snowmelt conditions, water can escape upslope all around its shores until suddenly a sudden opening appears in high ground several miles away due southward along Rio Grande Street on shoreline above Florence where release begins abruptly thenceforth generally southeastward towards Martinez Creek about 12 miles distant Thereafter draining gradually inland across flats much intervening country ending finally about 10 miles northwest of Florence at Gonzales Creek—a earthen road constructed by Spanish settlers as early as 1778 intersecting Umpqua Road about halfway between Gonzales Creek Junction and Don Pedro Lake will lead most people thereabouts today
