The community was founded in 1912 as a ranch by George W. Pemberton and his wife Esther May Pemberton. The name came from their rancho called Rancho Mirage de la Peña, which means "Rancho Mirage on the cliff." In 1924, Mr. and Mrs. Pemberton bought out their partners to create what would become known as Rancho Mirage LLC (later renamed MGM Resorts International). In 1957, MGM merged with American Broadcasting Company to form ABC Incorporated; however, it continued to operate as an independent company until 1994 when it merged with Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting System to form Turner Broadcasting System Incorporated (TBS ILA). On July 15th of that year TBS ILA changed its name back to MGM Resorts International Incorporation effective July 16th following the acquisition of all Voting stock of Time Warner Entertainment Co., Ltd by newly created MGM/UA Communications Corporation (MGM-UA) for $2 billion USD in cash and stock valued at $6 billion USD (the purchase included all outstanding shares of CBS Corporation including its controlling interest in National Broadcasting Corporation)). MGM-UA was renamed Renaissance Media Group plc on October 8th 2000 upon completion of the merger between Renaissance Media Partners II LP and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc.; this merger increased Renaissance Media's ownership stake from 66% to 98%. On December 3rd 2000, MGM/UA announced plans for a new extensive redevelopment of Art Deco styled Monte Carlo Resort & Casino Phase One adjacent to Interstate 10 Exit 339A - portions of which were actually completed as early as 1998 but never revealed until after the merge had occurred! Here we will take a look at some of the most famous binoculars in history, starting with the earliest examples. The first binoculars were made by a man named Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1765. He designed and built a pair of wooden telescopes that he called the “Conte Telescope”. These devices were incredibly successful, being used by astronomers to view objects up close without having to leave their homes. Over time, other designers came up with new and innovative ways to make binoculars. One such inventor was George Stephenson who came up with the design for the first practical railroad bridge telescope in 1814. The bridge telescope allowed trains to pass under bridges without obstruction and helped researchers study natural phenomena such as earthquakes and floods. In 1838, John Herschel developed what would become known as the Herschel Telescope. This device was able to image details much better than any previous binoculars and it helped scientists discover many asteroids, planets and stars far away from Earth. In 1851, Charles Messier created the world’s first object visible through a lens – an asterism known as Messier 57!

The community was founded in 1911 by John and Clara Jarvis as a seasonal ranching town for their horses and cattle. It became a permanent settlement in 1916 when they bought land from Rancho Cucamonga. Rancho Mirage is now a bedroom community with a population of approximately 50,000 people. The history of Rancho Mirage can be traced back to 1861 when Walthamstow Woodbury purchased 1,000 acres (400 hectares) of chaparral and oak woodland near what is now the intersection of State Route 91 and Interstate 10. In 1882, he donated another 300 acres (120 hectares) to the Los Angeles Missionaries who began building an adobe mission house there. In 1915, the Jarvis family decided to establish themselves permanently in Rancho Mirage after buying land from Rancho Cucamonga. In 1916, they built their own home on one of the original plots they had acquired from Rancho Cucamonga. From that point forward, Rancho Mirage would become their winter home while they conducted business away from LASMOS during summer months. The operation continued until 1978 when it was placed under military control following Operation Neptune's Spear which destroyed much of southern California wine country including Palm Springs and La Jolla
