Rancho Cucamonga Shooting Foundation was founded in 1958 by Jack and Emma Healy with the purpose of promoting shooting sports in the town. The organization has since grown to include nearly 100 members from throughout Southern California. Their main goal is to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment for shooters of all levels to participate in target shooting. The Rancho Cucamonga Shooting Foundation's history can be traced back to 1958 when Jack and Emma Healy organized a meeting to discuss ways that Rancho Cucamonga could promote its local shooting sport. At the time, there were few opportunities for people living in this rural town to experience target shooting. Jack and Emma believed that if they could help make Target Practice possible in their small town, then everyone would have an opportunity to enjoy this unique activity. They immediately set about creating a program that would meet the needs of their community. In 1962, Jack Healy began working as an Instructor at San Bernardino County High School where he taught youth how to shoot handguns using targets on long ranges. This experience gave him knowledge that he could use in his new endeavor - teaching target students how to shoot accurately with handguns. In 1967, Emma Healy also became an Instructor at San Bernardino County High School after leaving her job as a secretary at Pacific Bell Telephone Company (now Verizon). Together they formed the first rifle range in Southern California - located on Old Toole Road near north county line - which they called "Target Practice". With these two pioneers leading the way, Target Practice quickly became one of the most populargunshotting experiences available in Southern California! By 1974 Target Practice had evolved into what we know today as Rancho Cucamonga Shooting Foundation's flagship facility - home to over 100 active members who come together every month for NRA-sanctioned shoots! Our mission continues unchanged:to provide our members with an enjoyable experience through training and competition at our facilities within a safe and fun environment!

In 1951, the University of California, Irvine opened its own range on the Rancho Cucamonga campus. In 1968, CAL FIRE began using the ranch as a shooting range for law enforcement officers.
Rancho Cucamonga, California is located in the San Bernardino Mountains in southern California and was founded by Mormon settlers in 1871. The area now includes Rancho Cucamonga and unincorporated areas of Riverside County. The rancho was named after a Spanish name for an oak tree, which is why it is also sometimes called the Oaks Ranch. When the United States acquired California from Mexico in 1848, part of what became Orange County was included within Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, which covered much of what is now Riverside County. In 1851, President Brigham Young organized the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) here and began to build a ranch on land adjoining the mission property. This first rancho contained some 20 buildings and 10 miles of road. By 1870, however, many Mormons had left for Utah due to religious persecution there; only about 10% of those who had founded Rancho Cucamonga remained when America’s Civil War began two years later. Most black Americans living near Orange County during this time did not experience racism until well into the 20th century

Rancho Cucamonga, California was once a part of the Rancho San Buenaventura Mexican land grant given to Manuel Nieto in 1839. The grant extended from what is now El Monte to the present day towns of Orange and Lancaster. The lands were later divided among other families, and Rancho Cucamonga was granted to Ignacio Llanos in 1881. In 1920, it became part of the newly created County of Orange. The first Europeans to visit Rancho Cucamonga were missionaries from Mexico who founded Mission San Fernando in 1821. The mission was destroyed by a fire in 1824, but a new mission was built at Coyote Hills in 1850. In 1862, ranchers José Maria Garza and Francisco Valenzuela purchased some 80 acres (28 hectares) of land south of junction with State Route 101A for $2 per acre (0.88 km²). They named their rancho Santa Ana de las Flores after Saint Anne’s Grove mentioned in the Bible. For many years they continued to farm there, but around 1900 they began moving their cattle westward into central California where Prices Land Company had started leasing ranches east of Fresno County for grazing purposes. In 1912 two brothers-in-law bought Rancho Cucamonga from José de la Vega for $5 million dollars which left them with about 2,000 acres (800 ha) including much valuable water rights that would provide irrigation for citrus crops on their 10 miles (16 km) wide tract from Big Sur down through Menifee Valley to Yorba Linda River near Irvine. With this large piece of property came responsibility for its management which included building roads and developing an orchard complex that would include packinghouses and warehouses capable of handling 1 million crates per month when fully loaded with oranges or grapes
Rancho Cucamonga was founded in 1853 by Captain John Sutter and his wife, Eliza. The family ran a Rancho until it was sold to the United States government in 1881. In 1917, the rancho became part of the newly created County of Los Angeles.
