Rancho Cucamonga, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California on the edge of the Mojave Desert. The population was 27,914 at the 2010 census. Rancho Cucamonga's history begins with Mission San Gabriel Arcangeli, founded in 1795 by Franciscan missionaries. The mission became a ranch and eventually grew into a large cattle and sheep operation that employed more than 800 people. In 1851, parts of Rancho Cucamonga were annexed to become part of Riverside County. In 1905, John Wirth began acquiring land east of downtown Riverside for the purpose of developing it into what would become Rancho Cucamonga. He named his new development Santa Anita Racetrack after his old farm near La Crescentita in eastern Riverside County. With its large acreage and rolling hills, Santa Anita quickly became one of Southern California's most popular recreation areas for horse racing and other outdoor activities. In 1938 Don Bruce acquired 1/4 mile (0.8 km) of undeveloped meadowland northeast of the track to create what would become Bruce State Park. During World War II much activity took place at the park as it served as an airfield for fighter planes used duringOperation D-Day Invasion on June 6th 1944; later it also hosted military maneuvers such as rifle ranges and artillery range training exercises conducted by Army Captain Billy Mitchell in 1949 which further increased its popularity among locals and visitors alike; finally it closed to the public in 1963 following portions being leased to Anaheim Hills Airport while sections south were developed into housing developments known as "The Villages." Since becoming dormant again until recently there has been renewed interest due to plans underway by Caltrans Department of Transportation subsidiary SANDAG (the City Of Orange), who are converting much or all portions of Bruce State Park back into open space using funds provided through Proposition 65 funding guidelines set forth by state legislators following passage two years ago with then Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa presiding over theirefforts -amounting now to almost $30 million dollars since! One planned attraction pending approval from state officials is an urban garden center adjacent to Bruce State Park which could house up to 400 locally owned homegrowers working together under one roof providing sustainable agriculture products directlyto local residents & shoppers!

Rancho Cucamonga is a small, unincorporated community located in San Bernardino County, California. It was established in 1887 by two brothers, James and John Cucamonga. The first post office at Rancho Cucamonga opened in 1889. Rancho Cucamonga became a city in 1915 and was annexed into the City of San Bernardino in 1970. The population of Rancho Cucamonga peaked at 41,521 in 1969 but has since decreased to 28,641 as of 2010. The history of Rancho Cucamonga began with the construction of the Central Pacific Railroad on what is now the eastern edge of town. In 1885, James and John Cucamonga purchased 8 acres (3 ha) near present-day Circle K Casino for $10 per acre (4 ha). They named their new rancho after José Altamira, one of the conquerors of Mexico who had also founded Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Julius Erving's home town Estancia de la Mujer (later renamed Chino Hills). At that time it was one of only a few places within Mexican America where Anglo settlers were allowed to live without fear of being attacked or driven out by their Mexican counterparts. Construction on the ranch began soon after purchase and continued until early 1886 whenJames and John decided to sell part of it to David Epling for $2 million dollars. Epling built several homes including Oneida Creek Inn which still stands today as a hotel/motel complex known locally as "The Biltmore". In 1895 James and John sold additional acreage south from their original rancho to George Washington Hillman who built his own homestead on what is now Elm Street between Ballona Avenue and Deer Valley Road. Hillman later donated much land adjacent to his property including 4 miles (6 km) long Deer Valley Road leading east from Waco Park which served as local access point for farming country north and west Of La Jolla during wintertime; this access road is now State Route 123A . Heinrich Preuss purchased some land northeast from Hillman along Deer Valley Road extending all the way down into Imperial County; he named his new settlement Newhall after himselfPreuss owned an immense amount (>$1 million) worthof citrus trees that were used for produce such as oranges, apples, lemons etc., some 70 miles northwest from San Bernardino County limits on I-15 Alternate . This area would come to be known as Riverside County . By 1903 there were over 1,000 residents living within what is now Rancho Cucamonga boundaries
The Rancho Cucamonga area was first settled in 1836 by Anglo-Mexican pioneers, who named their land Rancho Cucamonga. The community was founded on the east side of the San Gabriel Mountains, about six miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. In 1850, a group of wealthy Californios acquired title to this land and established what is now known as Rancho Cucamonga. In 1884, John Sutter and his brother David founded the Sutter’s Gold Rushtown in central California. This town sprang up around an adobe ranch home that had been built originally by Capt. James Folsom for his family. After years of development and growth at Sutter's Gold Rushtown, the town became a city in 1912 when it merged with Los Angeles. Rancho Cucamonga has been a center for agricultural production since before European settlement began here. The soil here is rich in calcium and other minerals that make this location ideal for growing crops such as wheat, barley, cotton, potatoes and almonds. In addition to its agricultural industry, Rancho Cucamonga also played an important role during both World War II and the Cold War thanks to its vast stockpile of munitions armament from defense manufacturers like Lockheed Martin and Boeing Missile Division plants located thereabouts.
