Rancho Cordova, California is a small town in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 7,814 at the 2010 census. Rancho Cordova is located about 20 miles east of downtown San Bernardino on Interstate 10 and about 25 miles northwest of Palm Springs on Interstate 15. According to the United States Census Bureau, Rancho Cordova has a total area of ; all land except for .1 square mile (0.4 km²) water which is part of Big Bear Lake National Recreation Area

In 1954, Manuel Avila Cordova Sr.'s son, Manuel Avila Cordova Jr., donated another 160 acres (65 ha) of land to USC for use as a health sciences center known as "Langer Hall". Today, Langer Hall houses the School of Medicine at USC and is also home to several other scientific organizations including the university’s Center for Biological Sciences and Earth Observatory.
Rancho Cordova was founded in 1847 by Jose Antonio Yorba and his wife, María del Carmen Vallejo. The land for the rancho was acquired from Manuel Nieto, who had bought it from José Joaquín de la Peña. The first Rancho Cordova mission was founded in 1849, and the first white settlers arrived in 1852. In 1865, the railroad came through Cordova, which led to increased traffic and development of the town. The rancho became a major agricultural center during the late 19th century; it produced cotton, wheat, barley, oats, potatoes, fruit trees and livestock.
