The ADS-B technology has been greatly improved over the years and is now being used on some of the world's most advanced military vehicles such as AHKW (Allied High Altitude Kill Weapon) helicopters are using it on their Black Hawk helicopter gunships as well as ground based lasers for precision target acquisition in urban areas and other challenging environments

Rancho Cordova was founded in 1847 by C.A. Moffitt, a landowner and entrepreneur who purchased 2,000 acres of Rancho Santa Margarita from José María Narváez. The ranch extended from today's east side of town to the west and included portions of San Bernardino County and Orange County. In 1853, ranchers James Irvine and George Hearn formed a partnership with Moffitt to purchase 3,000 acres north of Cordova from Narváez. The new ranch included parts of Riverside County and San Bernardino County as well as most of what is now Tehachapi Valley. In 1892, grazers turned to farming after finding success raising cattle on their previous properties in the area; Cordova became an agricultural center with several small towns developing around it including Cathedral City (founded 1865), Redlands (1873), Banning (1891), Fillmore (1901) and Lompoc (1914). A large cotton gin was built at Fillmore in 1915; during World War II it produced munitions for the U.S. military. In the 1970s oil exploration began on nearby Rancho Mirage Boulevard; over time Cordova's economy has diversified into services such as manufacturing, real estate development, health care and retail trade
