There is no one answer to the question of who invented the holster. However, there are a few key players in this history. Rancho Cordova, California is a small town located in San Diego County, California. It was founded by the Sul Ross family in 1846 as part of Rancho Central de Anza. The town was named after General Antonio L. Cordova, hero of the Mexican-American War and founder of Rancho San Carlos del Tehuanaco near Tucson. This rancho had an annual produce crop of 20,000 acres (8 km²). In 1881, the rancho was sold to Joshua Chaffin and his brother David for $2 million. At this time it contained 812 acres (340 hectares). Development at Rancho Cordova began with farming, then lumbering and finally retail trade in 1915 when the first store opened on Main Street. The town prospered until World War II when production came to a standstill due to rapid population growth in San Diego County. After the war, development recommenced with the erection of housing, shopping malls and other commercial structures which have continued up to the present day.
The first white settlers in Rancho Cordova were Cotton Mather and his family, who arrived in 1797. The name Cordova was given to the ranch by José Manuel Herrera y Costilla, governor of Alta California. The first post office was established at Rancho Cordova in 1836, and the town began to grow up around it. In 1853, a group of Americans led by Commodore John D. Sloat founded the Naval Academy at Monterey. This caused a large influx of foreigners into the town, which made it difficult for businesses to survive. By 1870, only a few small businesses remained in Rancho Cordova. However, during this time there were also some major changes taking place in California: statehood was achieved in 1850 and Mexican independence from Spain was declared in 1821. In 1870, local historian Lorenzo Snow wrote an account of rancho cordova history that has been reprinted many times since then. Snow described how as early as 1797 Spanish colonists had settled on what is now Rancho Cordova because they found its proximity to Mission San Francisco valuable for trade with Mexico City; however, after Mexican independence was recognized that year most of these Spaniards left for various reasons including political instability back home and the lure of rich land grants available east of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Only about 40% of those who had initially settled here remain today; the majority have eitherigrated or died out entirely over time due to various factors such as disease or farming competition from more recent arrivals from Southern California and Arizona (the area now known as Riverside County). Snow writes: "Thereafter sporadic pioneer settlement occurred until 1800 when Captn Juan Bautista de Anza discovered one million acres [of] virgin forest within three miles of our present city limits." After this discovery came talk of building a transcontinental railroad through Fresno Valley but no action ever took place because resources would not allow it without developing further into what is now Riverside County - something that would happen much later with similar results related to oil production on other parts of MCUBL . After Mexico's collapse following American victory over Mexico at Buena Vista Creek (1848), American expansionism intensified across Central America culminating with US entry into World War I; ranchos were among the fastest-growing areas boom towns sprang up all along US side401 like Ensenada etc., creating huge families subdivided housing became their main pastime apart from agriculture where little progress has been made except some monotonous properties developments brought about by new immigrants looking for cheap land rather than investing their skills
