Rancho Cordova, California is a city located in western San Bernardino County, California. The population was 28,035 at the 2010 census. Rancho Cordova is initially settled by Mormon missionaries in 1847 as part of the Great Salt Lake Valley Project. The first post office for Rancho Cordova was established on February 17, 1848. The city was originally planned to be named Fillmore after General James Fillmore who served as President of the United States from 1850-1853 and afterwards became Governor of California. However, Fillmore refused to take an oath of office from then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt because he felt that it would have been an endorsement of his role in the Mexican Revolution which had started two years earlier in 1846 and ended with Mexico's independence from Spain three years later. In 1925, City Manager Hjalmar Arntzen decided to change the name to Rancho Cordova after Supervisor John A. Daly who helped promote settlement within the valley and also fought for water rights for ranching purposes within what is now downtown Rancho Cordova (the creek which flows through town today once served as a border between this township and neighbouring Eldridge). Daly donated land near present day Elmira Avenue and First Street east of Main Street which would become what is now Lawn Court Park while another parcel on First Street south became what is now Doña Ana High School; Arntzen renamed both properties "Daly Park" in honor of him. In 1930 Supervisor Abelardo Moreno proposed changing the name again to Hollywood due to its reputation as being one of America's most picturesque cities but this proposal failed to gain approval from Mayor Harry Glover or Councilmember Alonzo Mitchell who were worried about potential competition from nearby Pasadena or Carson City (then called Californian). On October 8th 1930 Hollywood changed its name once more when it adopted Anaheim instead; following an annexation by Orange County that same year. Rancho Cordova experienced several waves of immigration starting with German immigrants during World War I followed by Italian immigrants during World War II before becoming fully Hispanic beginning with Latino Americans fleeing Social Security cardsration during the early 1960s known as The Sixties Wave (following similar trends across Southern California such as Beverly Hills), culminating with Vietnamese refugees during Operation Phoenix that began on July 29th 1969 and continued until January 15th 1970 resulting in over 100 deaths along Interstate 10 between Riverside County/Ontario County borders and Newport Beach Boulevard inside North Hills area including much of neighboring La Crescenta & Palmdale Counties prior to federal troops moving into Riverside County adjacent county lines on September 14th 1971 effective ending all open migrations outside specific geographic boundaries since then all residents are required by law to carry state identification card numbers issued only upon request)

Rancho Cordova was founded in 1847 by Antonio Cordova and his wife, María del Carmen. It was a ranch located in present-day Santa Clara County, California. The Rancho Cordova land had been purchased from the Morongo Band of Mission Indians in 1836. In 1847, Antonio Cordova donated the 1,500 acres (620 ha) of Rancho Cordova to the county for development as a public park. The park area now includes parts of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. The first structures on Rancho Cordova were log cabins built by Antonio and María. They also built a mill on the creek that flows through the property. In 1850, they married Celia de la Cruz y Valdivia and moved to what is now downtown Santa Clara with their three children: Santiago, Elisabetha, and Francisco. In 1863, José Joaquín Cisneros became governor of California and ordered the closure of all Indian ranches in order to provide more grazing land for white livestock farmers. The Cordovas decided to move their ranch back into production and began planting crops such as barley and wheat. They also constructed a small schoolhouse on their property in 1865. In 1868, ranchers Manuel Nieto and José Gomez sold part of Rancho cordova to George Hearst for $4 million dollars which helped complete Hearst's takeover of the Mexican empire during its heyday before it crashed in 1893. After Hearst's death in 1908, his son William Randolph Hearst took over control of what is now called "the publishing magnate's empire" which included newspapers like The Examiner (San Francisco), Cosmopolitan (New York City), Evening Telegram (Tehran), Panama Review (Managua), New Mexico Herald (Las Cruces) among others There was significant competition between these organizations but eventually Hearst gained an monopoly over newspaper publishing due to financialization within America's capitalist economy during this period
The Rancho Cordova land grant, given in 1843 to José Antonio Nieto and his wife, Ana Maria Calvo, was one of the largest grants ever made by the United States. The grant covered an area of 2 million acres (8 square miles). The rancho was located near present-day San Diego and used for grazing livestock. The Calvos ran a small school on the rancho for their cattle and horses.
