Rancho Cordova, California is located in Southern California and is the most populous city in the region. The city was founded on December 24, 1849 by Charles C. Fremont as Rancho Santa Clara de la Maza. It became a town on November 8, 1850. The name of the town was changed to Rancho Cordova on May 25, 1872 after it became part ofLos Angeles County. According to the 2010 census, Rancho Cordova has a population of 106,673. The history of Rancho Cordova begins with Charles C. Fremont who founded it on December 24th, 1849 as Rancho Santa Clara de la Maza. He named it after his father-in-law's ranch near Monterey Bay in Alta California. In 1863 General George Sutter acquired 4500 acres (2 km²) of land at what is now Rancho Cordova for $5 per acre ($2400/km²). On February 12th 1865 General Sutter sold the land to John Ewing for $10 per acre ($4000/km²). The next year he sold it to James Phelan for $14 per acre ($6000/km²). On March 10th 1870 Captain John Waddell purchased 2200 acres (8 km²) from Captain Edward El Dorado and gave it to Abraham Lincoln Moffett who renamed it "Rancho Los Alamos". In 1902 William Randolph Hearst bought 1% of all outstanding stock in American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) for $2 million which made him one of its largest shareholders and helped make him one of America's richest men at that time. From 1889 until 1912 there were no telephone wires running through downtown Los Angeles so business people had to go out into rural areas to call their families back home by postcard or telephone service; this caused problems because corduroys were not easy transportation items then! In 1912 AT&T built a line from downtown Los Angeles all the way down into La Habra Heights where they installed wire services so residents could then call their families back home without having to go out into rural areas! This made life much easier for businesses because now they could just call their customers back home instead of having them drive out there! By 1933 there were over 100 phone companies operating in Los Angeles County!! In 1942 Japanese Americans living in urban areas were integrated into the general population through relocation called "Operation Mesquite" which took place during World War II throughout Southern California including Rancho Cordova Valley and other parts surrounding LA City limits such as Thousand Oaks and Glendale outside Irvine county boundaries – an event known as "the cleansing". Firearms then spread all over Asia starting with Japan around 1600 AD followed by Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia etc., until Americas got hold of these newly developed technologies around 1800AD when Spain got hold of firearms from Portugal
