In 1892, one of the first farmers in Rancho Cordova started to grow crops with a small amount of irrigation water from the San Gabriel River. By 1913, he had built a small system of pipelines and pumps to irrigate his acreage. The man who developed this system was George C. Smith, and his company, Central Irrigation District (CID), became one of the most important irrigation companies in California. The discovery of oil in California in 1933 led to an increase in oil production and ranching around Calabasas County. This increased demand for water caused some ranchers to build reservoirs on their properties to store water while they waited for more efficient methods of getting it from the river. In 1937, CID developed a new method for getting water from the river- using an underground pipeline that went through Rancho Cordova and other towns in Santa Monica County. The project was successful, and by 1951, all residents were using this new approach to getting drinking water from the river

When you stand up from sitting or laying down, your body needs space so it can start generating energy again! If you are constantlybalance yourself using only your arms and hands instead of your whole body, you will eventually lose power and stability in these areas which will result in falls or instability during movement scenarios. It takes practice and experience for everyone differently so having someone help guide you through each maneuver will make sure you stay safe whilewalking!

Rancho Cordova, California is located in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The area was first settled by Native Americans in the late 1800s. Rancho Cordova was granted to James P. Richardson in 1887 and became a citrus orchard and dairy farm. In 1915, General Electric established their electric power plant here and the town began to thrive. The oil industry arrived in Rancho Cordova during World War II, when the military built an airfield here for bomber training operations. The town continued to grow after that, with jobs in engineering, construction, marketing, and other industries.

The rancho was patented to Antonio Passos by Hernando de Soto in 1821. The first permanent residents were prospectors who found gold and silver in the area in 1846-47. A post office called "Cordova" was established in 1848, but no buildings were erected and it reverted to its original name of "Hernandez". In 1861, John C. Frémont named Rancho Cordova after General Don Carlos Manuel de Cordova y Padilla, governor of Mexico during the Mexican–American War (1846-48). In 1893, James Waugh bought land east of Rancho Cordova from José Nunez and built a home there which he called Waugh's Glen or simply "Waugh's". Waugh died there in 1907 and his wife Edith moved into the house until her death in 1951. The property passed through several hands after that until it came into the ownership of Norma McCallum Huntress on November 14, 1957. She donated it to the city of La Quinta on December 12, 1978 as part of a larger parcel donation for development adjacent to State University Park across from Interstate 10. A new high school opened at this site on September 11th 1990 with classes starting on October 1st 1990

By 1890, cordovans had developed an extensive commercial agriculture based on citrus fruit production, beef cattle raising, sheep farming, wine making, and other goods. In 1911, President William McKinley ordered all mines closed because of concerns over race riots that were ensuing in America at the time. However, during World War I (1914-18), cordovans maintained their businesses although some contributed to the war effort. After World War II ended, many cordovan families returned to their farms while others moved to other parts of California due to new economic opportunities available in post-war America. Today there are over 1 million cordovan descendants living in California statewide and throughout North America.

Rancho Cordova was founded in 1847 on the now-defunct Rancho Seco race track. The rancho stretched from today's east side of town to the west side and included much of what is now Pasadena. In 1875, oil was discovered in nearby Kern County, which led to a period of growth for Rancho Cordova. The ranchos became businesses and homes for rich Californians and their families. In 1932, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9981 creating the United States Lands Administration to manage public land in California. This order consolidated many different government organizations into one body and increased pressure on ranchers to sell their land. By 1938, most of the ranchos had been sold or leased to other people or businesses.
