Porterville is a small town located in the Central Valley of California. The population was 9,000 in 2000 and 10,752 in 2010. In 1954, Porterville’s first optical accessory store opened on Main Street. At that time, Porterville was a small farming community with few other businesses. Over time, the Optical Components section of the store became one of the most popular areas for customers to browse products. The store closed in 1984 but reopened as an online retailer in 2006. Some of the notable employees who have worked at Optical Components include its founder, Dick Easterling; current president and CEO, Rick Golden; vice president and general manager, Jeff Cooksey; and assistant general manager/owner-operator, Heidi Salerno. One of Porterville’s most iconic landmarks is its Old High School which has served as a local school since 1892. Today, the building hosts various events including parades and funerals for local residents. Additionally, it has been used as a movie set for many local productions over the years including The Outsiders (1983), Home Alone (1990), Terminator 2 (1991), and North Face: Heroes Come Home (2006). One recent addition to the school property is an underground Green Zone where students can train during PE class or play football or soccer while outside their classrooms!

Porterville, California is a small town located in Inyo County, California. The population was 4,871 at the 2010 census. Porterville is known for itsPUA (Queer and Transgender Association) chapter and its annual PrideFest. It also has a tiny airport which services only two planes per week. The community of Porterville was founded in 1887 by Captain John Drinkwater as an agricultural center on Hetch Hetchy Creek. In 1912, the city of Porterville was established by incorporation of nearby villages includingittereden and Wintershall. The city had a population of 100 people when it became an incorporated municipality in 1922. In 1933 the City Council voted to annex portions of Cottonwood Heights to make way for the new City Hall which would be built on what is now Main Street east of Center Avenue. In 1941, during World War II, Porterville became one of 20 communities within the United States that joined the Defense Production Board's "War Production Program". During World War II many local businesses produced munitions such as ammunition and tanks for the war effort; some remain active today such as Girdler's Department Store which still sells ammunition online from their old location across from Central High School main campus (the building where they currently operate). One business that closed during this time was First National Bank who once operated a bank with vault space inside Central High School before moving to another location due to lack of space. After World War II many businesses reopened but due to resource depletion after being without competition since 1945 many closed again or were sold off by their owners in favor of more profitable endeavors such as trucking companies or real estate ventures outside Porterville limits until recently when several have reopened including First National Bank - now part of Wells Fargo - which replaced its original location on Main Street with a new facility just north-east side Center Avenue next to IHOP restaurant; prior to that it occupied what used to be Walmart parking lot across from IHOP restaurant (current home for CA State University student Union). The city government changed hands multiple times through various ownership changes until finally it passed into private hands in 1984 thru leveraged buyout from then Mayor Bob Weinstock who served three terms before his retirement following acrimony over annexation votes he won while serving as mayoralty candidate against incumbent Don Fryhover Jr., son-in-law and nephew of then City Manager Don Fryhover Sr.. Throughout this period there have been numerous attempts at reforming or reverting back to mayoral rule but no permanent solution has ever been reached despite years spent trying different strategies including recall elections against incumbents should either party become majority leader after term limit expiration or by using legislation authored by then Senators Barbara Boxer (D-CA)and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) under former Assemblymember Tom McClintock (R-CA)), both members at that time representing Inyo County seats adjacent to Porterville limits until last year when Boxer announced her candidacy for U.S Senate seeking re-election against incumbent Dianne Feinstein vacated seat left open by her predecessor’s death resulting in newly created district stretching all along eastern edge Of San Bernardino County including much Of Riverside County west To Kern River Valley & north To Capitol Reef National Monument
