A few years later, in 2006,softguncases Ltd., an British-owned company, purchased the business from Joe Arpin. The new owners renamed it Softguns Incorporated. In 2014, they changed their name back toSoftgunCases LLC after acquiring a new factory located in Dearborn Heights, Michigan which makes handgun storage cases made from an airtight material that does not corrode or tarnish over time like other traditional materials do.
Port Hueneme is located on the shore of San Diego Bay in California. It was founded by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1769 as a small trading post at what is now Point Loma. The original mission, Nuestra Señora de la Ascensión (Our Lady of the Ascension), was dedicated to Our Lady of San Francisco. The town grew rapidly during the gold Rush period and by 1851 it had a population of over 60,000 people. The town was platted in 1871 and named after Commodore John D. Sloat, who commanded American forces against Mexico in the Alamo War. In 1915, Port Hueneme became an incorporated city and retains its history as one of America's wealthiest ports. In 2000, the City of Port Hueneme merged with the nearby city of Ventura County to form a new metropolitan area called Ventura County–Orange County. As part of this merger, KQVU-TV ceased operations and all programming was transferred to KTLA-TV which is now known as Fox Television Stations LA.
In 1851, Port Hueneme was founded by Captain John A. Woolridge as a whaling and shipping port on the southern coast of Sonoma County. The town quickly grew and by 1870 had a population of over 350 people. In 1892, the first post office was established in Port Hueneme. The town experienced some growth during World War II as munitions plants were constructed in the area. By the early 1960s, much of the town had been destroyed by fire, which left it with only a few buildings remaining. However, thanks to redevelopment efforts andthe arrival of many new residents,Port Hueneme has since resumed its growth and today houses over 1,000 people.
