T-shirts have been a part of the American clothing scene for over 50 years. The first T-shirt was created in Port Hueneme, California in 1953. In 1957, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted US patent 6,313,713 to George Weiser for his design of the “T-shirt”. The shirt was designed to be worn as a coveralls or overalls and it became popularized through advertisements and military service. He developed the idea while working at Western Design Company in San Francisco. In 1966, Jack Nicklaus designed and manufactured his very own T-shirt with his nickname “The Tiger” on it. This shirt quickly became popular with golfers throughout America due to its unique design. It was also mentioned in an issue of Sports Illustrated magazine which described how nicklaus had obtained permission from Western Design Company to produce this shirt without their knowledge or permission. After several successful productions, Nicklaus decided that he wanted to make a special edition of his T-shirt called The Masters Tournament Tee which featured Augusta National Golf Club located outside of Boston MA on the front cover. This tee was only available during the 1967 Masters Tournament which took place from April 14th – 18th 1967 at Trump International Golf Links in Bedminster NJ.

Port Hueneme, California is a city in Ventura County, California and part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The population was 109,824 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern coast of Ventura County and is bordered by Morro Bay to the east, Oxnard to the south-east, Thousand Oaks to the south-west and Redondo Beach to the north. The city was founded in 1887 as Portrero Blanco on what is now known as Point Mugu Naval Air Station (NMFS). It moved from its original name in 1892 when it became a port town on San Pedro Creek adjacent to Point Mugu. In 1916, it became an incorporated municipality with its own government. The current name of Port Hueneme comes from founder Manuel Hueneme's vision for "the best place for oranges" which led him to purchase land near present day downtownHueneme in 1925. The city was first developed as a bedroom community for southern Californians who were moving upriver towards L.A., but over time has become more diversified with businesses and residents coming from all over Southern California including Riverside County, Orange County, San Diego County and Ventura County. The economy is dominated by service industries such as accounting and real estate; however there are also some large commercial developments such as Staples Center and Costco Wholesale (CE). There are also several small colleges located within or nearby the city limits including Centennial College District #1 in Torrance and South Coast College District #2 in Simi Valley among others

Port Hueneme was founded in 1887 by Captain James Cook and his crew as a commercial port on the southern coast of California. The town quickly grew, becoming a popular place to live and work. In 1939, Port Hueneme was annexed by Los Angeles County. Today, the town is an important cultural center in Southern California and has a rich history that reaches back to 1887. The first Europeans to visit Port Hueneme were Spanish sailors who came ashore in 1769 during their explorations of the San Gabriel Valley. After reachingshore, they built small huts on the beach for shelter from the weather and to store their supplies. One year later, Portuguese sailors arrived at anchor off shore and landed with their merchandise. They soon became known as "the men from Portugal" because of this event. In 1847, Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna set out from Mexico City with 746 soldiers to invade California. He failed to find any land suitable for his army's encampment and returned home after only two weeks' journey when he discovered that no one had claimed the area where he had plans to establish himself as an independent nation. A group of Mexican fishermen located Lopez de Santa Anna's stranded troops at sea on September 10, 1847 - just six days before Perry Expedition landed on Monterey Peninsula looking for gold deposits in what is now Northern California (see Battle of Monterey). As a result of this occurrence, Englishman John Cranch decided to establish himself as an independent settlement in what is now downtown Los Angeles County in 1848-49 under the name Rancho La Brea (now Harbor Plaza). With this new discovery came new opportunities for trade with both Europe and Asia through ports like Manila Bay and Acapulco! Captain Cook sailed into Ventura harbor on November 12th, 1800 while exploring northern California's coastline seeking new routes farther southward into present day Mexico City; but never reached Port Hueneme due to bad weather conditions at sea...he instead anchored off Point Mugu about 25 miles east of today's city limits aboard HMS Discovery.. On January 13th, 1881 Commodore George Halsey sailed his USS Constitutioninto Ventura harbor after surveying these waters which had been reported by Captain Cook some years earlier While anchored there he sighted three vessels offshore headed southeastward towards Lompoc Gulf near Point Conception Lt.(JG) Harry Wainwright boarding USS Constitution observed two masts standing out above water against white caps so high they filled up eyeholes within helmets made against such natural phenomena Soon thereafter all lights were extinguished simultaneously inside Constitution due eitherto fog or gunfire emanating from those masts probably caused by mistake while night watch being relieved apparantly it was accidental fire started accidentally by someone returning aft not realizing time limit imposed upon them Upon inquiry vessel found nothing contraband or treasure onboard including most valuable artifacts now housed at US Naval History Museum ships moored nearby... Captains Cook & Halsey played no role in accident
The first European settlers in California were the Franciscan friars, who arrived in 1769. The area that is now Port Hueneme was part of Rancho San Rafael, which was granted to Manuel Nieto by Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado on November 26, 1824. In 1826, the rancho was sold to José Joaquin Moraga and Marcela Guerra. On January 1, 1846, Mexican soldiers under Captain Antonio Vallejo burned down the adobe-built mission at Rancho San Rafael. A year later on February 14th, 1847, Mission San Francisco de Asís was founded by Father Junípero Serra and a group of priests from Spain as part of an unsuccessful attempt to establish Hispanic Christianity in what is now Southern California.
