In 1937, Park Hill Village annexed part of Pleasanton as well; this annexation formed the present day park district boundaries for much of downtown Pleasanton proper including parts of Atherton Avenue and Fulton Street east of Interstate 680 north of MacArthur Boulevard north-northwest of Highway 238 were added to continue as part of park district boundaries today In 1951, all unincorporated areas within Contra Costa County were amalgamated into the new city limits creating one large city with its own government structure
