In the early 1900s, Pleasant Hill, California was a small town with a population of around 1,500. The town was founded in 1872 by two farmers, John and Mary Hargrave. The couple named their settlement after nearby Mount Pleasant (now part of Oakland), which they saw as a source of easy access to fresh water. The townsfolk were fond of Firearms T-Shirts and other firearm related apparel. Around 1912 or 1913, the first firearms store opened up in town. This store sold firearms including pistols, shotguns and rifles. Ammunition was also available for purchase at this time. In 1925, the first rifle club was organized in Pleasant Hill. At that time there were only three rifle ranges within twenty miles of town: one in Livermore and two in Contra Costa County. The Rifle Club offered rifle shooting matches, Trap & skeet shoots and target practice opportunities to area residents. In 1927 or 1928, the first annual tournament held at Hayward Field included pistol competition as well as rifle contests for boys and girls between grades six through twelve years old. By 1930 there were over seventy firearms stores located in Southern California alone! Many businesses had moved uptown during the Great Depression because of increased business opportunity due to prohibition laws being enforced throughout most of America at that time! By 1945 there were more than two thousand businesses operating within fifty miles radius of San Francisco! Gun retailers across America had adapted to changing consumer trends by marketing handguns instead of rifles! Most gun dealers now carried both types of weaponry! In 1951 or 1952 an ordinance passed by the City Council prohibited all open carry within city limits except under specific circumstances such as hunting or fishing permits which could only be obtained from a licensed gamekeeper/hunter! Pistol owners who violated this ordinance faced criminal charges punishable by up to $2500 per offense! This restrictive ordinance effectively ended open carry in downtown Pleasant Hill until it was legalized again in 1978 (!). During World War II many soldiers stationed within reachof our hometown decided they needed some dischargeable ammunition too!! So they started selling rounds direct to troops on military bases throughout Northern California!!!!! Needless to say we've got quite a few 'Guns N' Gals' t-shirts here :)

It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area and has been called "the most peaceful community in America." The city was founded as a farming town by James Hogg in 1868. He named it after his home village of Pleasant Valley, England. The first post office opened in 1870 and was called Hogg's Station. In 1916, Pleasant Hill began annexing neighboring townships to form what is now Alameda County. In 1936, Pleasant Hill became an incorporated town with a population of 507 people. In 2006-2007, Pleasant Hill experienced a series of burglaries that targeted both homes and businesses throughout its boundaries; these crimes were dubbed "PleasantHill Murders". Since then, police have made significant investments in security cameras and patrols around the community as an effort to reduce crime overall. The Mayor at the time Nancy Jaffe said that this type of investment "will make our citizens feel safe knowing their communities are being watched." Overall since 2007 there have been no reported murders or other felonies committed within the City limits from any source (excluding crimes against humans).

Pleasant Hill, California is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 4,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bakersfield metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Pleasant Hill were Native Americans who lived near the present-day community of Isabella. They called their village "Tia Huana", meaning "Hawa's Place". In 1847, two men named George and William Smith built a cabin on a bluff overlooking the site which they named Mount Pleasant after their home country and place of birth, England. In 1848, the United States acquired Rancho Niguel from Manuel Nieto for $20 per acre (1/8th of an acre). This land included most of what is now Pleasant Hill. The first settlers were Mexican American soldiers who had served in Captain José Joaquin Cámpora's Battalion during the Mexican-American War. Most of these soldiers settled around Mount Pleasant and began to build homes there around 1850-1851. In 1852, Rancho Niguel was sold to James Kamberger for $5 per acre (3/4ths of an acre). Kamberger renamed his rancho "Pleasant Hill" after his home state of Virginia where he had been born and raised. He also added a house for himself at its southern end to help promote agriculture in this new location. By 1860, about 30 families resided in Pleasant Hill with some 400 head Of livestock including sheep, cows and horses; vegetables included potatoes and beans; fruits were grapeseed oilseed apples and honeydews; grains included wheat flour ground into meal or bars; lumber was cut by hand using adobe bricks made from lime or sandstone quarried nearby. There was no water available until 1865 when a well became operational near present day Gadsden Avenue as part of Rancho Niguel’s irrigation system
