In 1889–90 John Sutter donated land to build what is now the main streetfront building on what is now US 395 - called Sutter Street - which still stands today. Some changes made during World War II included increased numbers military personnel returning home who needed housing close to their barracks – among other changes – so much so that two-thirds of all homes at Second Street & US 395 were taken up by troops between 1942-1945 when Kaiserslautern Air Base was located just east of town limits near present day Walmart/Mallofax Super Center off I-5 northbound exit ramp #211A (exit 210B if exiting out of I-5 southbound). The first post office closed on December 6th 1946 because there wasn’t enough mail volume coming through from outside Northern California due to war efforts being conducted then also Samoset Bay Naval Shipyard being used at Mare Island Naval Air Station for military purposes during those years; this resulted in large quantities of abandoned mail that continued into 1947 when USPS reopened its doors here after moving its headquarters from Washington D.C.. On January 2nd 1959 a fire broke out at KFC restaurant across Main Street from Post Office; which destroyed most buildings inside including several churches situated around campus; this event also led to closure of KFC restaurants throughout western San Joaquin Counties until reopening again about 5 years later under new management with larger facilities on November 4th 1967 following passage by state legislature creating Placentia City School District No 1 with jurisdiction over both public schools within city limits as well as special needs pupils attending private schools within city limits…. Townspeople organized themselves into Charitable Organizations such as “Families United For Assistance” or simply known simply as “FUARA” immediately began providing aid feeding hungry families living along Main Street side FUARA store… This provides us today with our current downtown business area including multiple bars/restaurants/pizza places etc.; while continuing our longstanding support for Sacred Heart Catholic Church located east side opposite remains our primary source Of Religious Services….. After more than 20+ years plowing snow off pavement every day we are finally able to call ourselves winterized thanks largely to member donations averaging $2 per blower!

Mission San Francisco de Asís was founded in 1776 by Father Junípero Serra and Friar José Ordóñez. The mission served as the northwesternmost point of California until 1821 when Alta California became part of Mexico. In 1848, American troops burned down the mission during an attempt to remove Mexican forces from northern California. The mission is now a State Park.
