AC then operated it until 1995 when they were sold to Supervalu Corporation(SV) who renamed them "Supervalu" From 1995-2004 SuperVALU operated both stores under one roof before splitting them again in 2006 when SV merged with Harris Teeter Company.(HTC) HTC later became Kroger Co., LLC.(KRG) KRG operates both stores under one roof currently while Supervalu splits them yet again into two entities - One will operate as "SuperValu," while another will operate as "Harris Teeter." In November 2018 Walmart announced their intentions to open an expansion into Pittsburg with plans for up to 20 new locations across three different anchor locations over five years starting 2019.This is significant because Walmart has been planning expansions into larger markets such as Phoenix and Memphis since 2014.Harris Teeter had agreed not participate due to opposition from KrogerCo., LLC which saw Walmart as competition.HSM also did not want any competition from their smaller rival Aldi.
