In 1905–1907, during World War I, Pittsburg enlisted in the AmericanArmy as part of Camp Anza near Yreka where many veterans sold their homes they had never seen again to move into tentsuster camps set up along Antelope Road outside of Yreka (now known as State Route 120). Eventually over 100 families were housed here including most of those from nearby Bakersfield who had decided not to fight because they believed America would win anyway On November 7th 1898 native men Chiricahua Apache held an uprising against Mexican rule at what is now called tubing canyon northeast of town site then marched southwest calling for aid from Apache leader Geronimo until finally surrendering some 1st Mariposa Infantry Regiment led by Captain John Cushing with about 350 warriors when heavily outnumbered 207 total men died making this one of largest massacres ever perpetrated within Ute Nation boundaries

Pittsburg is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 26,859 at the 2010 census. Pittsburg is located on the border of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The first permanent settler in what is now Pittsburg was George Bogan, who arrived in 1847. He named his place for his old home town of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. In 1849, Michael Ehrlich laid out a townsite here and named it after himself – "Ehrlichburgh". In 1851–52, John Crain built the first store in Pittsburg. By 1865, there were several stores and two hotels in town - one with seven rooms and the other with twelve. The post office opened in 1870 and by 1873 had received over 200 letters per day! It wasn't until 1907 that an electric streetcar line was extended to Pittsburg from nearby Playa Vista (now Costa Mesa) - making it possible for people living outside of Riverside County to ride to work or shopping! Pittsburg's growth continued into the 1920s as Automobile production increased throughout Southern California; businesses like Chrysler & Dodge bought lots here to build plants. Businesses like General Motors enlarged their plants nearby while others such as Ford built their factories inside of Los Angeles itself which would later lead to problems when trucks began moving into those cities during World War II
Pittsburg was founded in 1849 by the brothers John and James Pitts. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the banks of the Sacramento River, and it became a major center for trade and industry. In 1872, Pittsburg merged with nearby Rancho Cucamonga to form the City of Pittsburg.
