From 1945 until 1967, the "Pittsburgh Gun Club" published an annual magazine called " Western Journal of Guns & Ammo", which ceased publication in 1967 because of financial reasons.
Pittsburg is a small town in the Inland Empire region of southern California. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is located near the eastern edge of Los Angeles County and the San Joaquin Valley. The earliest known inhabitants of Pittsburg were Yokuts who lived on adjacent Creek townships south of present-day Pittsburg. The Yokuts were forced out by white settlers in 1847 and relocated to La Fayetteville, Nevada where they founded what is now Reno. A group of Cherokee Indians from Oklahoma also settled in Pittsburg in 1853. They named it "Chinatown" after their original home, Chinle Hill on the east side of Phoenix Lake near Pittsburgh, Oklahoma. In 1867, a group of Englishman led by Drayton Coleman established themselves as farmers in what is now Anaheim Hills with land grants from Governor Gabriel García Márquez. Soon thereafter, other Anglo settlers followed and by 1870 there were over 100 people living in Pittsburg; many more came during subsequent waves of immigration brought over by railroad construction (the first such wave arrived from Southern California during World War II). By 1916, when Pittsburg had a population of 2,500 and industrial production accounted for only one-tenth of local employment, its new downtown had been completed on an acreage comprising most of what is today Old Town Square downtown area., situated on Cambria Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue between Pennsylvania Avenue and 6th Street SW., across First Avenue from Don Lomas Park (now part Of programa de la Universidad de los Angeles)

The city was founded by prospectors on October 4, 1849 as a branch settlement of Yreka. On July 15, 1850, it became an incorporated town with a population of 249 people. In 1852 it became part of the newly formed Kern County. At its peak in 1880 it had a population of 564 people and was home to three banks and two churches. The economic decline of the late 1800s led to the abandonment of Pittsburg in 1911. However, reestablishment of the community began in earnest in 1922 when City Councilman Olin Hickey purchased land east of town from Jerrold Janssen and organized what would become known as the "Pittsburg History Museum." Today that museum serves as an important source for information about Pittsburg's history and culture. Today, Pittsburg remains an important community with a vibrant economy and lively cultural scene; its businesses include several restaurants and bars along with many small businesses that support local agriculture
