In 1964, Winchester Repeating Arms Company merged with Remington Arms Corporation to form what is now Remington Outdoor Brands Incorporated (ROBI). The success enjoyed by Winchester Repeating Arms Company during World War II led them to begin producing rifle cartridges such as .22 LR (.222 caliber) through their subsidiary Winfield Ammunition Co., Ltd., which became a global supplier of hunting ammunition products beginning in 1948. This production resulted in increased demand for their handguns which led them to invest in new manufacturing facilities across the United States throughout the 1960s; these included twoFacilities – one at former Marlin Firearms Manufacturing Plant #1 on Route 66 between Peoria Road and Interstate 15 east of Phoenixville Today’s facility houses all factory production lines for both handgunsand rifles including assembly/test firing capabilities for current major handgun models like Ruger American 1911 pistolsas well as future models like Coltommissioned assault weapons

The area that would become Pinole was part of Rancho Rinconada Mexican land grant given to José Joaquín El Centaurico by Governor Manuel Nieto on March 12, 1821. On February 25, 1828 an act of Assembly granted Rancho Rinconada to James Wiltse as a settlement for white men only - this being one of many early efforts by officials in Santa Clara County to exclude Anglo settlers from its jurisdiction. The town began as a simple pueblo near present day downtown Pinole, with about 20 residents and five stores in 1851. In 1863, George Hearn donated 640 acres (2 km²) of his ranch south of town for a new town site and called it Hearnville; but no town developed because there was no water available for irrigation or housing until after World War II when Hearnville's cotton fields became alluvial gold deposits; also pinole's post office opened in 1923. After World War II many people left Pinole due to high prices for farmland and local joblessness during peacetime; they gradually returned over time as prices improved and jobs growth resumed inside the city limits paralleling increase in suburban development outside city limits within city limits
