Bullets in California date back to the 1860s when Winchester Repeating Arms Company began production of their Model 1892 rifle with a bullet that measures .45 caliber. The first handguns made with the new round were made by Smith & Wesson and Colt. In 1898, the United States Ordnance Department developed a projectile called the "Pine Ball" that was designed to be more accurate than earlier rounds and was eventually adopted as the standard military cartridge for pistols and rifles in 1903. In 1951, revolver manufacturer Browning introduced its Browning Hi-Power pistol which used a new bullet design, the 8th Generalized International Bullet (GIB), which had an improved jacket composition and performance over other bullets at distances up to 100 yards. The GIB became popular among hunters and target shooters across America due to its high accuracy and low recoil. In 1958, Browning introduced its all-new P95 pistol which featured an enlarged grip safety for increased control while carrying out double action shootings. This handgun quickly became popular among law enforcement officers, who could now rely on it for reliable service at long ranges.

Pinole is a small town in south-central California. It is located on the edge of the San Joaquin Valley, about 20 miles (32 km) east of Fresno and 50 miles (80 km) west of Stockton. The population was 9,291 as of 2010. The name comes from Spanish " pinole" meaning "a pear." The first people to live in what is now Pinole arrived in 1846, when they were driven out of their land by squatters. A post office was established in 1852, and the town became a part of the larger city of Sacramento. In 1875, it became an independent village and was incorporated as a city on December 15th that year. On July 1st, 1934, it merged with nearby Modesto to form the present-day city of Pinole. Today, Pinole is known for its fruit crops such as apples and pears; its cheese industry; its traditional architecture which featuresMission Revival style buildings dating back to the 1850s; and its significant Latino community who make up about 60% of its population. The town has been called "the most Hispanic town in America."

Pinole, California is located in the Central Valley of California. It was established by the Spanish in 1777 as part of Rancho San Luis Rey. The community became a Mexican land grant to American settlers in 1821. In 1863, it was annexed by California and renamed after Pinole Creek. The town was incorporated on December 12, 1872.

It is the third-largest city in San Luis Obispo county and the second-largest city east of Interstate 5. Pinole is located on the San Joaquin River, 17 miles (27 km) south of downtownSan Luis Obispo and 20 miles (32 km) north of Bakersfield. The town was founded by prospectors and farmers in 1849 as part of an effort to develop what would become central California. The town achieved its current form with the incorporation of Pinole on April 12, 1912. The first post office in Pinole was established on October 26, 1851 by Wm. Halsey and Averell Crawford under the name "Haven." On July 1, 1860, it changed its name to "Pinole," after property owner John Pineda's hometown in Spain. In 1906 it became an incorporated city with a population of 7 people; however it had no mayor or council until 1912 when Mayor Harry Janssen assumed office after being elected to a four year term as a paper candidate over incumbent Tom Frenchel Jr.. In 1915 construction started on I-5 which would connect Los Angeles to Sacramento through Highway 99; this made Pinole an important junction for travelers between Central Valley cities such as Fresno and Oakland and Northern California cities like Berkeley and Sacramento. After years of planning and $60 million dollars from state coffers ($ today), I-5 opened up traffic around Pinole on November 15th, 1998
