Gun lights were first introduced in the Piedmont area of California in the early 1900s. At that time, gun lights consisted of a handheld light and an attached tripod. The handheld light was used to identify targets and allow shooters to hit their target with greater accuracy. The attached tripod allowed shooters to place their targets at various distances from them so they could fire multiple rounds at them at once. Today, firearm enthusiast in the Piedmont area still use these types of devices for target shooting and Heritage Shooters Association events.

The economy depends primarily on agriculture and manufacturing; however, there are plans for development in many areas including light industry, health care, education, transportation, and retail opportunities. Piedmont was named after Giovanni Battista Poggio (1596–1665), an Italian Jesuit missionary who arrived in North America in 1669. After landing at Monterey Bay he journeyed upriver for two years before reaching what is now Fresno County; from there he journeyed northwestward across Death Valley until he reached modern day Fresno on March 11th 1671 where he founded Mission Santa Clara de Asís on November 15th 1671 using his own money and supplies brought overland from Rome under Father Junipero Serra’s supervision

Piedmont is a small town in San Bernardino County, California, located about 12 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The population was 8,868 at the 2010 census. Piedmont is the namesake of the Piedmont region which includes much of western and central California. The first Europeans to set foot on what is now Piedmont were members of the Spanish expedition that discovered California in 1769-1770. They were led by Gaspar de Portolà, and included four Franciscans: Junípero Serra, José Narváez, Francisco Javier Roca and Felipe de Neve. The area now known as Piedmont was part of Alta California under Mexico until 1821 when it became part of United States territory following Mexican capitulation at Guadalupe Hidalgo. From 1848 until 1861, Piedmont served as the site for both Alta California's capital city (1849-1851) and as its most populous municipality (1861-1916). In 1886 Sepulveda Valley began to be developed along what would become I-5; this development led to increased traffic on Main Street in downtown Los Angeles and made it necessary to widen the street from two lanes to four lanes around 1912. By 1920 Main Street had been widened again to six lanes with a median strip; this widening also facilitated automobile travel through Downtown Los Angeles and added more people and businesses to Old Pasadena Boulevard near Olympic National Park. In 1926–1927 an expressway was constructed called "The Western Freeway" which followed main streets south from Downtown Los Angeles into Orange County; this freeway replaced portions of pre-existing Route 66 which ran northeast from Downtown Los Angeles across Pasadena into Orange County. This new route shortened trips between DowntownLosAngeles and Anaheim Hills by approximately 50%. During World War II General George Custer's army fought its way through Santa Monica Mountains after being ordered by Ulysses S Grant to cross them at Joshua Tree National Monument in order chase down Japanese forces retreating northward during Operation Coronet; troops encounteredtesteropes while passing through Sepulveda Valley on their way up these mountains early morning on February 14th 1945 before finally reaching Joshua Tree late afternoon that same day. As a result of this battle over 800 American servicemen were killed or wounded - one third of all casualties during World War II in Southern Californiaب
The Piedmont region of California was founded by the Spanish in 1769 as part of the New Spain colony of Alta California. The area now includes much of the San Joaquin Valley and most of Fresno County. In 1846, following Mexico's independence from Spain, the United States acquired Alta California through the Mexican-American War. General John C. Fremont explored and claimed what is now eastern Oregon and western Nevada for America during the 1850s. The name "Piedmont" was first used to describe this general area in writing in 1858.
