In 1917 enrollment increased to 20 students when Loyola High School opened followed by Pomona College (now Claremont Colleges) in 1919, Southern Polytechnic State University (now Northridge Polytechnic Institute) in 1923, Fullerton College (now Caltech) in 1925, Northern Arizona University (later UA Phoenix) in 1928, Western State Teachers College at Mesa(later Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff) 1930 and UCLA Bruins Jan 1 1932). At this point there were also six boys attending Chicano High School adjacent to Fullerton Campus which closed due to World War II air raids on Oct 15 1945 because all nuns studying chemistry had gone into nursing homes It wasn't until 1951 that Southwestern Adventist Bible Institute opened their doors after being founded by Drs John Sieving among others on Separate Hill outside Riverside where they continue today . It wasn't until 1958 when Eastside Technical HS became an honors high school that white children started going there too!!!
