Parlier is a small town in Northern California. It is located in the Sacramento Valley, about an hour’s drive from Sacramento. The population of Parlier was 3,914 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1853 by James and Martha Parlier as a homestead on Rancho San Joaquin. James Parlier died in 1896 and Martha Parlier continued to live there until her death in 1951. The town was named for their father, who had been born in France and died there early in life. The original post office opened on May 10, 1854, and remained open until it was discontinued on April 12, 1886. In 1907 the town added a school district to its rolls; this district operated until it merged with the larger Union School District on November 1, 1965. Parlier has two churches – First Baptist Church (founded 1935) and Episcopal Cathedral of the Holy Cross (established 1901). There are also several Catholic churches and two Jehovah's Witnesses temples. It also contains a library (1855), a football field (1907), a basketball court (1937), a baseball diamond (1948), three retail stores including one that specializes in handmade items called “The Patch Shop” (founded 1954), one restaurant/bar called “Foothills Grill” which seats 150 people indoors while outdoor seating is available when weather permits, four homeschooling centers as well as other businesses associated with home education such as arts & crafts store called “The Workshop” and post office where parents can pick up supplies for their children along with newsletters about home education programs offered by various organizations like PARLIER-PARISHMANSHIP or PARLIER-NATIONAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS

Parlier was founded in 1872 by J.H. Parlier and his wife, Hilda. The town was named for Josephine (Joni) Parlier, the niece of J.H. Parlier's father, who had settled in the area in 1851. The first store on Main Street opened in 1872 and soon became a popular stop for travelers on their way to the nearby towns of Redding and Yuba City. A post office was established in 1876 and continued to serve the community until it closed its doors in 1916. In 1896, Parlier joined with other communities around Valley Lake to form the Valley Lake Union School District. This district served students from Parlier, Redding, Yuba City, Grass Valley, Lone Pine and several other small villages within its boundaries until it merged into the larger Sacramento-San Joaquin County school system in 1978. During World War II, Parlier played an important role as a military airfield serving Northern California during the war years airline activity increased throughout Northern California due to shortages of available land for airports at that time; however, much of this activity ceased after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 causing most commercial airlines not to operate over Southern California that day. Today much of what once constituted downtownParlier is now composed of single-family homes or rental units which are scattered throughout parts of town east of main street between First Street and Second Street; this area is known locally as "The Hill" because many residents there have high ground from whence they can see much of downtown valley lake without having to go down a long hillside path accessible only by those who own large properties or are able to hire security guards to keep them out while they view their property from one or more vantage points located atop hills located near Interstate 5 across from Save Mart Center off I-5exit 66 (Exit 133). Most residents continue to maintain close ties with friends and family back homecountryliving primarily through agriculture - raising livestock such as cows and pigs; cultivating crops such as barley, wheat, grapeseed oilseed rape (a typeof sunflower), onions etc.; extracting groundwater for drinking purposes; logging (~3 acres per year);and fishing both salt water (salt water fishing being very popular among locals)and fresh water sources including streams running through town limits southward into Delta County where they catch largemouth bass (Largemouth Bass), channel catfish (White Clam), crappie(Crappie), goldeneye(Goldeneye)or any number thereof depending upon weather conditions both upstream/downstreamfrom various bodies Of Water inside town limits also some people do hunting/fishing using shotguns specifically target shooting equipment when there is good cover/loading areasavailable especially if hunting deerTexas Cattle dog living permanently with farm family since before WW2

He was one of the first white men to set foot on what is now California.Parlier and his crew explored the area and noted its many natural resources.
