This led to several high-profile CinemaScore failures for MGM productions such as "A Fistful of Dollars" and "To Kill a Mockingbird". In 1998, MGM sold its controlling interest in Paramount Pictures to Japanese entertainment giant Sony Corporation. As part of this sale, all former Warner Bros.-owned subsidiary labels were transferred over to Sony Entertainment Television (SET). On April 15th, 2018, it was announced that Sony would be selling its remaining interests in both Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) and SkyWest Airlines effective September 1st 2018

In the late 1800s, another type of gun light was developed called an “incandescent searchlight” which used heat to emit a bright stream of light. This type of light was very useful for illuminating objects at long distances and it became popular with military personnel during World War II because it could be used to find targets in difficult-to-see areas. Gunlights continued to be developed throughout the 1940s and 1950s but they didn’t become as popular as they did in the past until the early 1960s when they were introduced into pistols and rifles. These devices use electric current instead of oil lamps so they can be brighter and more reliable than traditional gunlights. The early 1960s were a time when handgun manufacturers began developing new designs for handguns that required lighter weaponsights than those available earlier on in their histories (e.g., arms manufacturer Colt introduced its “P-9X” pistol with an illuminated front sight system). A key player in this development was Nighthawk Ammunition Company which manufactured both Incandescent Searchlights (ISA) for law enforcement use, using high voltage direct current (HVDC) technology, while also launching Ballistics Assisted Light Weapons Systems (BALW) based on Incandescent Searchlights intended primarily for infantry firefights ashore against Viet Cong insurgents utilizing ground support weapons like machineguns or antitank missiles launchers mounted on Bradley Fighting Vehicles (FV215/226), heavy artillery pieces like howitzers or howitzer fires from towed platforms such as TOW vehicles, helicopters Gunships etc….. As ISA technology matured over timeBallisticAssistedLightWeaponsSystem(BALW)was born…. government agencies across America adopted BALLISTICS ASSISTED LIGHT WEAPONS SYSTEMS(BALW)for their own personal firearms by replacing older muzzleloaders with newer ballistics equipped rifle barrels with sights directly attached using fiber optic cables extending aft from rifle stock
In 1873, John Moses Browning designed the first successful gun light. It was called the "Browning Gun Light." This light helped to make guns more visible in night skies and helped law enforcement officers easier to see in dark areas.

In 1955, Paramount acquired Viacom Inc., forming what is now known as Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Paramount, California was first settled by the Tongva people in the late 17th century. The town was named for John Strode, a cattle rancher who donated land to the city in 1876. The city was incorporated on December 6, 1886. In 1914, Paramount became one of the cities in the new Los Angeles County.
