However, through acquisitions such as Orion Pictures in 1986, DreamWorks Animation SKG in 2001-2006 and Skydance Productions in 2014-present,Paramount has regained some control over its films business since 2006-2014 while continuing its longstanding policy that only foreign language films can be produced here under a certain quota set by MPAA guidelines In March 2018 it was announced that DreamWorks Animation would merge with ComcastUniversal Filmed Entertainment Co., Inc., creating one powerful media conglomerate across all film genres with over 800 studios worldwide
