The town's decline continued until 1935 when it lost all its residents to fire within two weeks during an agricultural strike.[3][4] In 1936-1937,[5], construction began on what is now called "The Promenade" which would eventually become one of Los Angeles' most popular tourist destinations thanks to its beautiful coastlinelines,[6] wide variety of restaurants[7][8][9][10], luxurious residences[11], art galleries[12],[13],[14],[15],[16]and shopping centers like The Grove (later Hollywood Bowl). Parkutherland Playground opened in 1937 also located adjacent to The Promenade which served as both an open-air playground for children adjacent to the water's edge while adults could enjoy views from nearby buildings including The Promenade's own vista deck; today known as Rockefeller Center [17]. During World War II[18], many citizens enlisted in service or worked odd jobs in order to support their families while their homes were bombed or destroyed.[19],[20]'s main industry before war stopped being agriculture but continued afterwards becoming manufacturing because there wasn't enough available land for new farming practices following the cessation of hostilities; this led eventually into Dusty Bottom copper mining operations starting up again beginning around 1945 once more resulting Newhall Gardens area becoming heavily cultivated farmland once again giving rise too much dust particles drifting across Southern California skies leading finally towards downtown LOS ANGELES area where they stayed until 1967 when that portion too got included within city limits along with Bunker Hill Hills taking over much needed housing tracts formerly belonging primarily Toombs Ranch which lay just east/northwest of downtown then becameLA Roncalli Drive between Bunker Hill Hills Boulevard & Western Avenue lasting until Mulholland Drive took over most likely via annexation later renamed Farmers Branch Road

In 1867, they reached what is now Paradise. The Mormons named their new community after an ancient Greek city in Cyprus that had been destroyed by a volcanic eruption. The town experienced some growth during the late 1800s and early 1900s due to its location as a stop on the Central Pacific Railroad. However, it declined after World War II because of competition from more populous cities such as Fresno and Sacramento. Today, Paradise is a small agricultural town with few residents.
