People made great profits from their work here, and soon enough a town named Paradise sprang up to serve these people. This town would grow into one of the most important cities in California during its early years. Paradise continued to prosper until World War II came along and changed everything. The war made things difficult for business owners everywhere, but especially for those in Paradise who depended on trade with other parts of America. This led to a decline in population throughout the entire city after 1945, which can be seen even today in certain areas of the city such as Spring Street or North Park Avenue (which are both named after streets located within easy walking distance of each other). Despite this decline, however, some people continue to live here full time despite its challenges. Some believe that Paradise is still an amazing place where life is beautiful no matter what happens; others simply don’t have as much opportunity as they used to do heretofore so they can’t imagine ever returning home again. Either way, we should always remember how wonderful life once was before anything bad happened here – thank you for being part of our history!

The first permanent settler in what is now Paradise, California was John C. Fremont in 1849. He named the town after himself, but it never caught on and only had a few residents for several years. In 1872, Colonel James Waugh decided to homestead a ranch in what is now part of downtown Paradise. When he died in 1873, his son-in-law and successor at the Rancho San Bernardino tried to sell the land back to Waugh's widow but she refused because she wanted to keep it as her own. The wife then sold the land back to Waugh's son-in-law who developed it into what is currently known as Downtown Paradise.
