In 1907, Livermore donated land to create Paradise and incorporated it as a city under the name Livermore Springs
The first people to live in what is now Paradise, California were the Huchiun Indians. They arrived in the area around 1820 and started a small village on a piece of land that is now known as Rancho Palos Verdes. The Huchiun lived here until they were driven out by the Spanish in 1847.
