The Captain's company soon became known as the Browning Pistol Holster Company Ltd., and continued making holsters until World War II when they stopped making handguns altogether. During World War II, they produced holsters for both the U.S. military and American civilians. After the war, they resumed producing handguns but only made them for law enforcement agencies (such as police officers) instead of civilians anymore. At some point during this time, the company changed its name back to Browning Pistol Holster Company Ltd., which still exists today as one of the largest holster companies in North America.

One result was that many residents moved into Hollywood during this time period. -The development of Beverly Hills: The influx of wealthy movie stars led to increased development around Beverly Hills Blvd., which eventually became one of LA’s most expensive neighborhoods. -Stagnation during World War II: When war started in 1939, many families relocated to safer areas such as Santa Monica or Van Nuys due to concerns over potential persecution from Nazi Germany. However, few properties were confiscated or razed due to lackOf evidence or opposition from local residents (though some homes were ultimately sold off).
The Palos Verdes Estates community of over 38,000 people was created in 1887 by a group of investors from Los Angeles. The original name for the community was "Babylon", after the biblical city. The population rapidly grew as new residents and businesses moved into the area, and in 1912 a small park, known as Mount Olympus Park, was laid out on the edge of town. In 1930, the entire community became a city under the name of Palos Verdes City. By 1945, however, the city had shrunk to its present size due to rapid growth in neighboring cities such as Torrance and Hawthorne. In 1961, Palos Verdes City merged with neighboring Torrance County to form Unified Torrance County.
