The hammer is another arm-length piece of metal or plastic that fits over and around both strikers and connects directly to the breechblock which resides behind them on either side of their jointed shafts. Once pulled back slightly by an springs actuated lever (usually located at one end beneath either notch in the barrel), this allows you to cock/fire your weapon without having to remove both strikers! It should be noted though that if you do not pull back on this lever while holding your gun capably with two fingers hands then your firearm may still shoot since hammers work best when cocked & locked into place - however if done incorrectly this may cause accidental fire! Lastly, there’s also what’s known as a safety catch – usually found at one end of each hammer block – which prevents anyone other than an authorized Firearms Dealer from putting their hand inside the breechblock(s) during reloading/unloading so ensure everyone knows how TO do it BEFORE THEY COME!

The cocking arm would rotate around an axis known as the breech face, which would then allow the round to be fired by pressing down on the block while simultaneously pulling back on the handle (or vice versa). This type of trigger mechanism became popularized with handguns such as revolvers and shotguns, and it remains an important part of gun ownership today.
