Swivel guns have a long and varied history in Palos Verdes Estates, California. They began to be used in the early 1800s as revolvers for farmers and hunters. By the 1860s, they had become popular among gunsmiths as they allowed users to rotate the barrel of their weapon 360 degrees. This made it possible for them to fire multiple shots at once with greater accuracy. The first swivels were made out of brass and were very delicate. Over time, however, they became more durable and better-made. The modern swivel gun is based on the design of the old brass swivels. The temperature inside your head will also have changed dramatically since you last shot! Some projectiles, like BBs, can only be fired if they are pointed inwards - like a BB gun. Other projectiles like grenades or artillery shells can be fired any way they are pointing- like an assault rifle! This means that when you fire a projectile using a gun with a swivel on one barrel, you're actually increasing your chances of hitting someone else rather than just yourself!
In 1892, Palos Verdes Estates became the first city in California to passes a gun law. The law prohibited anyone from owning or carrying any firearms within the city limits.
The Palos Verdes Estates community is located in the eastern San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County. Its boundaries are Friars Road to the north, Glendale Boulevard to the east, and Monterey Park Boulevard to the south. The community is bordered by Diamond Bar on the west, West Hollywood on the east, and Sherman Oaks on the southeast. As of 2010, there were a total of 9,865 households in Palos Verdes Estates. Out of these, 21% had children under 18 living with them, 42% were married couples living together, and 38% were non-families. 31% of all households were made up of individuals and 11% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.92 and the average family size was 3.46. In Palos Verdes Estates, 20% of residents are below the poverty line while 41%of residents have a college degree or higher than what is required for most jobs in Southern California

The Palos Verdes Estates section of Los Angeles County was originally inhabited by the Tongva people. The area was part of the greater Mission District, which consisted of most of what is now Beverly Hills and Westwood Village. In 1849, the United States government acquired Rancho San Miguel de Santa Ana from Spanish conqueror Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo for $12,000. The mission was destroyed in 1851 by a storm and its land became part of Alhambra. On October 14, 1887, Palos Verdes Estates became an incorporated town when it straddled the border between Orange County and Los Angeles County. It had a population of about 350 people. When the city limits were set in place in 1913, Palos Verdes Estates grew to more than 5,000 residents. In 1923, Palos Verdes Estates began to experience rapid growth due to new housing developments created through a program called "Permanent home builders." These developers built homes on large tracts of undeveloped land near Interstate 10 and State routes 190 and 288. By 1930, the community had grown so large that it needed its own police department and fire department. The first known white person to live in Palos Verdes Estates was Capt Samuel Morse who bought land east of downtown in 1922 for $2 per acre (about $14 per square foot). It wasn’t until after World War II that PALOS VERDES ESTATES truly exploded as a suburban bedroom community with high-end subdivisions such as Harriman Ranch (now Harbor Island), Pompano Beach Club House (now Palm Beach Gardens), Villa Luisa (now Thousand Oaks), Trump International Golf Links at Bellagio (now Lake Worth), Newport Country Club (now Westminster) and many other fine estates throughout Southern California
The Palos Verdes Estates community was first settled in 1876 by Russian Jewish immigrants, who named their new town after a small piece of land they had purchased in the area. The land belonged to the Colegio de San Pedro de la Paloma, which operated a school and chapel on it until 1870. In 1881, the colegio moved to its present location on East Pico Boulevard. In 1907, the city of Los Angeles annexed part of Palos Verdes Estates and renamed it North Hollywood. In 1912, North Hollywood merged with Hollywood to form one big city. In 1927, Hollywood Annexed Palos Verdes Estates and became Westwood Village. On December 2nd, 1930, Westwood Village amalgamated with Beverly Hills to become one big city again. In 1951, following the passage of Proposition 13 (a measure that repealed most state taxes), many wealthy Californians left California for other states in search of higher tax rates. Some settled in Palm Springs and Cathedral City; others moved into newer enclaves such as Brentwood or Encino Hills. In 1969, when Southern California went through dramatic population growth due to oil exploration and production activities seismic testing took place off-shore near La Jolla Cove which created an environmental disaster that affected much of southeastern Orange County
