The Palmdale Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1892. The first building on this site was a Methodist church. The original townsquare, which is now the business district, was located at the corner of First and Second streets. In 1916, the city of Palmdale annexed the neighboring towns of Rancho Mirage and Diamond Bar. In 1936, the City Council began to consider plans to expand eastward into what is now Lancaster County. A vote in favor of a plan to annex part of ranches in Strawberry Canyon resulted in a 10-acre plot at Fourth and Thames streets being donated by developer Clarence Weems for use as an expansion center for the city of Palmdale. A new larger council chamber (now called Community Hall) was completed on this site in 1951, becoming home to both the city and county governments until 1987 when they were combined under one roof with Hearst Corporation as their single governing body. In 1955, work began on creating what is now Interstate 805 south of town; this project became known as "The Great I-805 Project." The first section of I-805 opened up from Ventura Boulevard north to Lomas Street in 1966; however, due to problems with traffic congestion caused by numerous shopping malls development near Interstate 5 (then known as State Route 101), portions closer to downtown were closed off and renamed I-5 Freeway Extension / Sierra Madre Parkway / Apple Valley Parkway / etc., until 1990 when all accessions were brought under one name once again - I-405 / Empire Boulevard / Pioneer Highway

This new concept revolutionized how optics were used by professionals and helped increase accuracy when connecting scopes together on various rifles across different platforms!

After her death in 1906, Crippen donated land to build what is now called Crippen Parkette Park (now part of City Hall Park). A post office was established at Palmdale on November 1, 1875; it closed on December 14, 1912 due to limited competition from other towns within Los Angeles County with similar names such as West Hollywood and Playa del Rey. A new USPS office opened at Commerce Boulevard and Western Avenue in 1911; it closed upon its merger into LAX airport with LA Times building becoming its main office just south of Union Station (now concourse B). In 1951 Mayor James Rector dedicated City Hall Park - then bounded by Western Avenue on the east side and 6th Streetwest on the west side - as part of Mayor Arturo Guzman's effort to promote civic center redevelopment across Southern California during an era when few cities had such developments because most officials felt they were not needed or did not generate enough tax revenue. In 1966 Disneyland opened its gates nearby after being leased from Anaheim Turnpike Co., making Palmdale one of only two Californian neighborhoods served by Disneyland - along with Burbank . The city also hosted world champion running events including the 1984 UPI Golden Globe Awards ceremonies inside City Hall park before moving them outdoors for good beginning in 1985 . Today much like many American metropolitan areas over time suburbanization has occurred with shopping malls replacing traditional downtown business districts

Growth stopped during World War II because of the large quantities of aluminum produced in nearby Hanford National Laboratory. After the war,Palmdale experienced a period of decline which began in the late 1960s when federal funding was withdrawn from local municipalities due to budget limitations. However, since 2000s growth has resumed with new investment and development opportunities in downtown Palmdal
