During World War II there were several munitions plants located in or near Pacific Grove including those built by Raytheon and Convair (now Lockheed Martin). Many people who live in or work in Pacific Grove have either been born or raised here or have spent time here since childhood whether it be studying agriculture or working on one's farm or ranching business; this community has done a lot to support both local residents as well as military personnel stationed nearby during wartime as well as hosting numerous events/festivals throughout the year such as Fiesta del Mar (Maritime Festival) which takes place every September in downtown Los Altos Hills while also having various art exhibitions throughout the year at different galleries located around town center like Prendergast Gallery & Sculpture Park, Holy Cross Catholic Church (& adjacent School), Stroudsburg mall & All Souls Episcopal Chapel etc... giving Pacific Grove something truly unique not found elsewhere!

Pacific Grove is a small town in San Mateo County, California, located on the eastern edge of Redwood City. The name comes from a local Coast Miwok word meaning "place where the redwoods grow." The first Europeans to visit this area were Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and his party who explored Santa Cruz Bay in 1542. From here they sailed northward along the coast until they reached what is now Monterey Peninsula. After landfalling there, Cabrillo's group continued their journey up the peninsula and discovered Calafia Island. On July 24, 1544, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés set out from San Francisco with three ships to explore the Strait of Magellan which he named after one of his captains, Diego Fernández de Oviedo y Valdivia. He arrived at Chile Head on October 8th but never went further because he lost touch with his companions during their voyage. In 1769–70 John Sutter built his first permanent settlement at Fort Point on Golden Gate Park beach opposite Sausalito. In 1846–47 American Commodore Perry landed at Alcatraz Island following his disastrous voyage around Cape Horn, seeking passage back home through the Panama Canal by way of Mexico City instead of going through the Sandwich Islands (Hawaii). As a result of this eventidental discovery by Americans of part of Baja California Sur—now known as Mexicali—a new era in Mexican-American relations began: trade increased between both countries; land grants were made; formal treaties were signed;and mineral rights were acquired for various purposes including lumber production and navigation
