There is no doubt that gun magazines have a long and storied history in Oxnard, California. The first magazine to be published in the city was the "Rancho Viejo" magazine, which was published from 1892 to 1897. The first pistol club in Oxnard was formed in 1907 and the first rifle club in 1909. In 1916, the "Oxnard News-Democrat" became the first newspaper in Oxnard to begin regularly publishingGun & Ammo. It would later become the "Oxnard Journal-Star." In 1939, Gun National Armory opened its doors for business on Second Street in Oxnard. It would eventually become one of the most well-known firearms dealers in Southern California. Throughout these years, Gun National Armory has been a major player within local firearm culture and has helped spawn many other noteworthy businesses and organizations within Oxnard such as: The NRA's Ventura County armory; SOA Arms Ammunition; Gunsmiths Guild; American Legion Post #5100; and SOCOM (Southern California Osprey Hunt Club). Although Gun National Armory ceased operations circa 1984, it remains an important part of our town's Firearms History by continuing to play an important role within both local firearm culture and community involvement throughout today's society.

The " Ventura County Register" was founded in 1912 and it also published its issues at the gun shop on First Street. It continued publication until 1916.
Oxnard, California is a city in Ventura County, California, United States. The population was 73,912 at the 2010 census. It is the second most populous city in Ventura County after Santa Paula. The city's location on the border of Los Angeles and San Francisco has led to its nickname "The City by the Bay". In 1869, two brothers from Oxnard – John S. and James W. Oxnard – started a small grocery store on First Street in what is now downtown Oxnard. The store became successful and opened a second store near State Route 101 in 1876. In 1881, they merged their businesses into one company and named it Oxnard Grocery Company Incorporated. On December 15, 1932, General Motors announced that it would build a new manufacturing plant adjacent to Western Motor Sales Co., located at Sixth Avenue and Ventura Boulevard in Oxnard; this would be GM's largest automotive production facility outside of Michigan until Hiroshima produced cars for Japan during World War II

Oxnard, California is a small city located in Southern California on the Pacific Ocean. It is bordered by Ventura County to the east, San Pedro County to the west and Orange County to the north. The population of Oxnard was 51,521 at the 2010 census. The first people who lived in what is now Oxnard were Native Americans who hunted and gathered resources near present-day Ventura Harbor. The region was explored by Spanish traders in 1769, when they discovered winegrowing plants and Mission San Gabriel Arcangela (now part of Downtown Los Angeles) on their way southward from Monterey Bay. Englishman John Cranch made an initial land grant in 1835 to José María Narváez, Jr., also known as Juan Bautista de Anza. In 1846, American Commodore James Cook sailed into Ventura Harbour and anchored off what is now Oxnard Beach after his exploration of southern California wines; he named this area "Cook's Harbor" after him. In 1872, oxen were used for traction on new tracks built by cattle ranchers across from where the town stands today. By 1875, there were over 20 businesses in town with a population of 100. The first store opened on Main Street in 1886 when Jules Gagnon managed an insurance company there before moving to Redondo Beach two years later. Today many of these businesses are long gone but much of downtown Oxnard still retains its pre-war architecture including brick buildings dating back to 1916 that are home to various shops and restaurants including Pecan Springs Café & Bakery which has been awarded three Michelin stars since 2018. In 1903 a group of businessmen led by Walter Ewing organized Will Rogers State Park which became one of Oxnard's most popular tourist destinations during the early 1900s because it featured several miles (16 kilometers) of sandy beach with crystal clear water perfect for swimming and snorkelling; it remains one of its most popular tourist attractions today as a result of its unique mix of natural features such as reefs and mountains while also featuring modern amenities like tennis courts, beach umbrellas/showers/waterpipes etc.. After World War II many different types of businesses took hold inOxnard due mainly to post-war boom: manufacturing companies such as Lockheed Martin Corporation (later Raytheon) developed plutonium production facilities at nearby Geiger Island between 1945-1949 during wartime military testing; service companies such as Taco Bell started opening up shop here during that time period too; light industrial areas grew around Highway 101 along with large warehouses used for storage or processing agricultural products until recently when many have been converted into housing units primarily for seniors or those with disabilities After decades without significant development local officials decided it was time for something new -A community center would be established so residents could interact face-to-face instead OF via email or phone calls only A plan was drawn up entitled "Community Oriented Development" or COVID The project was spearheaded by then Mayor Norm Ladd who believed that if residents had some control over their own destiny they would become more civically active insteadof just passive recipients Of government welfare programs COVID aimed To create jobs locally while developing quality community infrastructure such as parks, libraries/museums/sports complexes etc.; funding came primarily from sales tax increment financing (STIF), voter approval referendum Measure M2 passed November 3rd 2002 makingOxnard an official city within Santa Clara County On July 14th 2009 City Council voted 7–0 to Executive Order #1 creating both a Community Development Commission (CDC) composed entirely thereof appointed directly by Mayor Ladd consisting solely thereof chairpersons responsible for carrying out all deeds and ordinances adopted pursuant to Chapter 397 &Ordinance No 2 providing For incorporation And organization Of The City Of Oxnard As A Municipal Corporation With Power To Intervene In All matte Transactions Connected Therewith
OXNARD, California is located in the Central Valley of California. The city was founded on March 25, 1887 by John Oxnard and his wife Emma. The town grew rapidly due to its location near the railroad, and by 1907 it had a population of 10,000 people.
