The first ammunition for firearms was brought to the Oxnard area in 1868 by Captain Fenton of the C.F.&O.R.S.A., during a military expedition against the Bahamian island of Bonaire. This led to an increase in production capacity as well as efficiency within company ranks; both managers who had once worked independently now operated together under one roof with a common goal: making high-quality products that would serve their customers well through many wars to come. However, because it would have been located within the boundaries then currently occupied by Ventura County government buildings such as county courthouse and jail—and across street from wetlands owned by Caltrans which were part of then-City Manager Don Armstrong's vision for expanding commuter rail service into Oxnard beyond South El Monte—the project was abandoned in 1986 upon objections from county officials who felt that it would disrupt rural character of their community while adding excessive demolitions along streetscapes that still maintain historic elements without any equivalent benefits to citizens or taxpayers. I n early December 1886 three men met at Santa Clara Valley General Hospital to plot out plans for what would become Oxnard: Jno.[sic] H[einrich] Fuhrmann,[2][3], Augustus B.[echtert], German immigrant Dragoš Topolskić,[4][5] aka Dragoš Tomačević,[6][7] brother-in-law [of future mayor Dean Haines] John Gorman,[8][9][10] insurance broker Julius Rosenberg[11],[12], white American Robert Eustis[13], Russian émigré Natalija Ivanović Kovaljevačka[14]: these men were not just civic leaders but businessmen as well; all three had previous experience developing oil fields or running businesses in Southern California during the late 19th century boom period known as "the Gold Rush."[15][16]. When news arrived in Santa Clara about crude oil discoveries offshore Santa Barbara County – including deepwater wells operated by Standard Oil Company president John D'Auria – Fuhrmann began searching earnestly for potential sites within Ventura County where he could build an extensive new refining facility to meet San Francisco's needs for gasoline.[17]: he found them when he met with City Administrator Don Armstrong about improving commuter rail service into Oxard beyond South El Monte; Armstrong agreed to provide financial assistance but wanted no part in developments outside his jurisdiction

Oxnard, California is a city located in Ventura County, California. The population was 66,786 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous city in Ventura County and the second largest city on the West Coast of North America after San Francisco. Oxnard's history dates back to 1879 when it was named for General James H. Oxnard and his wife Eliza Woolley Oxnard. The City of Oxnard was incorporated on December 3, 1883. The original name for this town was "Saddleback". The first post office opened in 1879 under the name of "Huckaback", but it changed its name to "Oxnard" on October 15, 1880 due to objections from other towns that were then located within Ventura County. The first mayor of Oxnard was Wm Mears with resident George Fenton as treasurer and postmaster. The first store in town was built by Cranch & Co., a grocery store that operated from what is now Main Street between First Avenue and Third Street. In 1886, Jno Kapp bought the store from Cranch & Co., which renamed it “Kapp”s Grocery Store until 1906 when it became part of the Empire Tobacco Company chain which also included businesses at 8th street and Second Avenue (now Lombard Street). In 1915, Empire Tobacco Company merged into American Tobacco Corporation; consequently all Kapp's stores became part of American Tobacco Corporation except one on Commerce Boulevard which continued as an independent business until 1984 when it filed for bankruptcy protection and closed down). In 1916-17 there were two fires: one at an opera house where stagehands stored materials during performances, and another near Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church which destroyed several homes including a conventicle nuns who had been living there since 1903. These events helped make Oxnard known as a place where fires were not so common as they are today because back then people didn't know how to clean up aftermaths like these ones easily enough! On July 14, 1919 Gertrude Vanderbilt Dodge donated land southeast of present day Main Street for use as a public park called Dodge Park after her father Commodore Vanderbilt III (the last direct descendant of Commodore Vanderbilt) donated $5,000 towards its creation fund through his foundation Sheepshead Bay Trust Company Limited Partnership (later renamed philanthropic trust Ford Foundation). This gift made possible construction of Dodger Stadium on that land following approval by City Council on November 5th 1915 over objections from Mayor John Smedley who said Notre Dame Cathedral would be better suited for the park location due to its size and traffic congestion caused by nearby streets such as Playa del Rey Boulevard which led directly into Dodger Stadium across Market Street parking lot! That same year civic organizations formed two committees: one charged with developing plans for landscaping around Dodger Stadium while another committee proposed building Wade Park adjacent to Dodger Stadium housing athletic fields tennis courts etcetera; both committees eventually submitted their recommendations to City Council recommending against any further development around Dodger Stadium pending further study/planning! A few months later On February 24th 1917 local developer Harry Payne designed what would become known as Northridge Canyon Country Club - now home to many upscale subdivisions including Residence Inn Express & Suites – just east off I-805 northbound exit off SR 91 southbound exit just before SR 134 about 12 miles north-northwest of downtown Los Angeles! As you can see Dodge Park never got developed much beyond making way for Dodger stadium though some nice gated communities did pop up along Northridge Canyon Road such as Vista Del Mar or Rancho Mirage - still used today by wealthy families looking out over Southern California's coastline!.
