firearms and hat manufacturing have been a part of Oroville's history for over seventy years. With the growth of the city, businesses started to grow and require more space. One such business was the Armour Hat & Gun Manufacturing Company, which moved from its original location on Market Street in 1913 into what is now known as 7th & H Streets. The company manufactured hats and other firearm accessories until it ceased production in 1976. In that year, it was replaced by another business, Firearms Manufacturing Inc., which continued to produce firearmsHat products until 2007. At that time, Firearms Manufacturing LLC closed its doors after eighty-six years in operation. The company's legacy lives on through their employees who continue to manufacture hats for customers all throughout California.

In 1949, Colt Firearms Corporation produced its own version of the Garand called the M1911A1 pistol which became popular with both police officers and militaries around the world due to its high firepower capacity (the standard magazine capacity for most pistols at that time was only five rounds). In 1968, Smith & Wesson introduced their classic model 9mm handgun which quickly replaced handguns like the Colt Python as one of America's favorite handguns. Today, Smith & Wesson remains one of America's leading firearms manufacturers with an extensive line-up of pistols including revolvers, rifles, shotguns and ammunition products
Oroville, California is a city in Sutter County, California, United States. The population was 20,651 at the 2010 census. Oroville is the largest city in Sutter County and the second-largest city in Northern California after San Francisco. It is part of the Sacramento–San Joaquin Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Oroville" comes from Mission Dolores (now part of Olathe, Kansas), which was founded in 1847 by Franciscan missionaries under Junípero Serra. The original inhabitants called the area "Potosi." A post office was established at Potosi on January 16, 1851, and remained in operation until it was discontinued on October 15, 1893. In 1853 George C. Blythe donated land to become what is now Oroville Ranchos east of town and north of Highway 494. In 1861 Charles Goodyear opened a tannery on his property that became one of America's first tanneries; it still operates today as Goodyear Tanning Company (). Robert Hagedorn surveyed and platted the town site on March 24, 1865; it began to be developed as a community named after him on April 6 that year when he purchased 5 acres (2 ha) south of present-day Main Street for $5 per acre ($25 per ha). On August 14, 1870 Henry Durant acquired 640 acres (248 ha) northwest of Oroville for $10 per acre ($50 per ha). In November 1870 John Sutter arrived with 9 brothers from Mexico City to found an agricultural settlement near Dixon along Feather River called Sutter’s Fortescue Creek () – later renamed Sutter’s Grove (). On February 11, 1871 Hagedorn published an article entitled "Townsite Plans Preferential Treatment given to Population over Landownership" (), which outlined how residents would be allotted their share of water rights and other benefits if they built homes within the limits specified by Hagedorn's platitude "(No buildings shall be erected without consent of landowners)." The article also included this descriptive sentence: "The first house had been put up within three months." It seems that developers were very keen to get as much development built quickly as possible since there wasn't enough space or permissions available for everyone who wanted to build their own home or business within town Limits! This resulted in several subdivisions being created around town including: Northridge(), El Dorado Hills(), Crestline Drive (), Midtown West (), Southgate Village (), Locke Canyon Village (), Depot Village () - all beforeresent day Oroville proper even existed! A post office called Crescent City () opened at this time but closed down on July 15th 1899 due to lack of mail volume during prohibition era(). After prohibition ended in 1933 local residents re-opened Crescent City Post Office serving ZIP code 95661 until its closure again on October 1st 2003 due to budget cuts organized by then Mayor James Loyola!. Today only remnants remain from Crescent City including some early 20th century architecture inside what used to be its post office building(s). In 1911 Jens Nielsen started selling ice cream out his window from his home which eventually led him into owning a small rink located just northeast cornerof present day Main Street & Foothill Boulevard (). From here he started making movies using footage taken indoors while filming outdoors using an indoor movie camera invented by himself() – one which still exists today and can be rented out through various websites like Netflix! In 1916 Nielson married Edna Mowry (); they resided in CrescentCity until she died suddenly aged 46 years old during a family vacation outside Lima,, Peru on December 8th 1966 leavingNielsen widowed with 2 children aged 17 & 21 years old! His son moved back east shortly afterwards becoming George Nielsen Jr.. Today GNielsen Enterprises Inc., based out of Yorba Linda offers rentals/rentals/uploads for film production services sourced from various locations all over the world!).

The town's growth continued until 1937, when it had only 1,000 residents. Today, Oroville is home to about 41,000 people and is one of California's most important agricultural centers. More than 40% of the buildings were destroyed or damaged during the assault. However, within five years most of the population had either left for other parts of California or returned to Mexico City. In 1905, Oroville became one of several towns in Northern California designated as part of newly formed Silicon Valley Regional District (SVRD). The region was dominated by large tech companies such as Intel and Apple at this time, and Oroville quickly emerged as one of its leading districts. By 2006 however its growth slowed somewhat due to changes in regional politics which affected many smaller districts throughout Silicon Valley simultaneously. In 2011 however Oroville announced plans to reduce its size by 10% in order to focus more on economic development rather than infrastructure maintenance; this announcement provoked a large protest from residents who felt they were being sacrificed for economic reasons. The protests eventually led to a decision by city council members not to pursue further reductions in size; however these decisions remain highly controversial today given their impact on community life and economic development."
